This study was conducted to analyse the status of Makhana processing and its value chain financing in Bihar. Findings of the study revealed that almost 100 per cent of Makhana is processed manually and the adoption of Makhana processing machines was totally absent. The net profit earned by processing of each quintal of raw Makhana seeds is very less in comparison to the share in consumers’ price.Contrary to the Makhana production; the women participation in Makhana processing was much significant.

OLTP transaction workloads require quick access and updates to a small set of records. This work is typically performed in a localized area on disk, with one or a small number of parallel units. Shared-everything architectures, in which processors share a single large disk and memory, are well suited to OLTP workloads. Shared-disk architectures, such as Oracle RAC, can also be effective for OLTP because each server can take a subset of the queries and process them independently while ensuring consistency through the shared-disk subsystem.

This paper examines the memory system behavior of database management systems on simultaneous multi- threaded processors. Simultaneous multithreading (SMT) [4] is an architectural technique in which the processor issues instructions from multiple threads in a single cycle. For scientific workloads, SMT has been shown to substantially increase processor utilization through fine- grained sharing of all processor resources (the fetch and issue logic, the caches, the TLBs, and the functional units) among the executing threads [23].

By multiplexing hardware resources among virtual machines (VMs) running commodity operating systems, VMMs decrease both the capital outlay and management overhead of hosting centers. Appropriate placement and migration policies can take advantage of statistical multiplexing to effectively utilize available processors.
