  • The present study was carried out in Udaipur and Ajmer districts of Rajasthan. The primary data were collected from ten poultry farms from each district through a well structured questionnaire. The results revealed that the most popular marketing channel in Udaipur district was identified as channel-III (Producer-Wholesaler-Retailer-Consumer) for both broilers as well as eggs marketing, while in case of Ajmer district channel-V (Producer-Super market-Consumer) and channel-III (Producer Wholesaler-RetailerConsumer) has been found as best for broilers and eggs, respectively.

  • The deficiency of secure and reliable electrical power is a constraint to firm performance and its competitiveness in developing countries. Several countries in the south Asian region face electricity shortages leading to frequent power outages. This study investigate the effect of power outages on the technical efficiency of firms in selected South Asian countries. The study employed the stochastic frontier approach to estimate the technical efficiency of firms. We use the OLS and Beta regression to estimate the effect of power outages on technical efficiency of manufacturing firms.

India is continuously facing pressure on the demand side due to limited land availability, steady population growth and several other production constraints, which appear as obstacles for supply of food grains.   • Farmers had a medium level of adoption about improved practices of black gram cultivation in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. Majority (82.5%) of the respondent adopted the recommended varieties and (73.33%) of the respondent had adopted the recommended control measures of disease and insect pest, while in case of recommended manure and fertilizer application, (79.16%) of the respondent had adopted FYM application and (66.66%) percent respondent had adopted the recommended chemical fertilizer application, and cultural practices cent percent of the respondent had adopted them.
