The basic and strategic research programs in litchi aim at developing technologies for enhancing productivity, quality, facilitating processing and value addition for increased net returns. The present literature has been, therefore, reviewed to clear the concepts and approaches involving the use of PGRs paving way for future litchi production. Physiological changes such as heavy fruit drop or early abscission in litchi might be due to the lack of hormones needed for the embryo and fruit development, lack of pollination and/or fertilization etc.

This study in aimed at growth and stability of litchi production in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar with specific objectives of determining trend in area, production and productivity of litchi. India is the second largest producer of litchi in the world after China. The present investigation was undertaken to explore the possibility of the use of soy milk in litchi pulp based shrikhand to produce a novel fermented milk product. The product was prepared as per the standard method using constant level of litchi pulp (15%) and sugar (40%). Different levels of soy milk (10, 20, 30 and 40%) were tried as substitute of standardized milk. It was found that incorporation of soy milk at 20% level slightly improved the colour and appearance scores of the developed product.

Litchi is one of the important subtropical fruit crops in the state of Jharkhand, occupying around 3.3 thousand hectare and production is about 16.5 thousand metric tonnes. Considering the importance of plant analysis in fruit crops, the present investigation was carried out in an established orchard (since, 1979) at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Ranchi Centre to study the nutrient concentration in leaves of Litchi orchard as well as interrelationship between available nutrients present in leaf with crop productivity for developing a sound fertilizer management programme.
