The study aimed to determine the efficiency of salt tolerance bio-product NPISi (NPISi) on soil characteristics, growth and yield of green onion when grown on salt-affected soil in Tran De district, Soc Trang province.

Onion (Allium cepa L.) is a biennial bulb crop, produced all over the world. It is attacked by many diseases, out of which Purple blotch of onion caused by Alternaria porri (Ellis) Neerg causing heavy yield loss in both bulb production and seed production. The world production of vegetables, India is the second largest producer next to china. In India, there is no mechanization available for onion transplanting. The transplanting of onion seedlings mainly depends on farm workers. So, manually operated two row paper pot onion transplanter was developed. In agricultural mechanization, the major role of ergonomics is to increase the efficiency of the operation. The study was conducted to evaluate the manually operated two row paper pot onion transplanter and compared with conventional method of transplanting.

Seed priming with antioxidants can help the seeds to retain their viability for much longer, as the major cause of seed deterioration in onion seed is the production of ROS which is produced as the age of seed increases leading seeds to loose viability. Therefore use of antioxidants may have potential to be cost effective mechanism for prolonging the storage life.

An experiment has been conducted to study the effects of application of different level of organic fertiliser and inorganic fertiliser on economic of onion production as well as the fertiliser uptake by plant. From the data it was found that the 25% RDF + 75% N of poultry manure was most effective treatment in respect to economics of onion cultivation for higher net return with greater benefit cost (B: C) ratio as well as uptake of NPK.

Considering the importance of micronutrients and bio regulators in determining quality production of onion, the present investigation was undertaken. The experiment laid out in RBD with twenty-seven treatments in three replications. Micronutrients like Fe and Zn added in to the soil through alone and combination with FYM and cow dung slurry as per treatment.
