  • A field experiment was conducted during the Kharif season of 2019 at Agronomy Instructional Farm, Mandan Bharti Agriculture College, Saharsa, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar to evaluate the best finger millet based inter cropping with different legumes. Based on the results, it was concluded that intercropping of finger millet with black gram at 4:2 pair row ratio was distinctly superior among all intercropping system found most profitable by realizing the highest net return.

  • The study was carried out to evaluate the performance of improved cultivars with scientific package and practices on production, productivity and profitability of blackgram. Cluster frontline demonstrations were conducted during 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 for evaluation of the performance of Pratap Urd-1, variety of blackgram in Bhaisakatta, Badatola, Albeda, Mode, Turakhar, Choriya, Puswada and Kapasi of Uttar-Bastar Kanker district and record the feedback information of farmer’s.

  • The present study was carried out the evaluating the performance of improved varieties with scientific package and practices on production, productivities and profitability of black gram. Front line demonstrations were conducted during 2009-10 to 2013-14 (five consecutive years) with evaluation of the performance of different varieties of black gram (PU-35, IPU 94-1 and T-9) in five different villages namely Lorha, Choti pali, Chandia, Dogargawa and Tali of the district.

  • Urdbean or black gram is one of the most important cultivated pulse crops of the ‘Vigna’ group. Seeing to the importance as a major pulse crop a research study was carried out on sample farms to work out the costs and profitability of urdbean. A multi-stage random sampling technique was adopted for data collection; the study was conducted in Lailunga block of Raigarh district (C.G.), sample of 3 villages of this block was selected randomly. A sample of 60 farmers in the ratio of 20:20:20 was selected randomly. The farmers were classified into three groups viz., small (4.0 hectares) farms.
