Rucaparib is a poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitor approved in Europe as maintenance therapy for recurrent platinum-sensitive (Pt-S) ovarian cancer (OC). The Rucaparib Access Programme (RAP) was designed to provide early access to rucaparib for the above-mentioned indication, as well as for patients with BRCA-mutated Pt-S or platinum-resistant (Pt-R) OC and no therapeutic alternatives.

An experiment was conducted using seeds of two mungbean verities viz., WGG-42 and LGG-460 treated with various doses/ concentrations of gamma rays (200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 Gy) and ethyl methane sulphonate (0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5% and 0.6%) and sodium azide (1 mM, 2 mM and 3 mM) to find the LD50 dose by using probit analysis in M1 generation. LD50 dose is important to understand the sensitivity of various genotypes to the critical dose of mutagens creating 50 percent mortality.

Infection of sterile body fluid can lead to severe morbidity and mortality. Periodic surveillance and monitoring programmers are helpful for framing the antibiotic policy. The present study was undertaken to evaluate aerobic bacteriological profile along with their antibiogram from various sterile fluids over a period of five years. A total of 1708 body fluid samples were processed according to Standard guidelines and analysed in order to assess the changing trends in bacteriological profile and antibiogram.

Respiratory tract infections are very common in critically ill patients in hospital settings. Endotracheal aspiration is a simple and easy method to perform especially in ICU patients for obtaining samples from lower respiratory tract. Genetic diversity using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers was assessed in forty eight Indian potato germplasm. Twenty RAPD markers amplified a total of ninety-one different loci that exhibited 82.30 per cent polymorphism among 48 potato germplasm. The PIC value ranged from 0.27 to 0.55. All the loci amplified by the primer which were found to be polymorphic varied in size from 1500bp. The Jaccard’s similarity coefficient was found to vary from 0.22 to 0.87. Microscopy is a rapid method but lacks sufficient sensitivity and does not distinguish between different species of mycobacteria. The diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is complicated by the increased presence of sputum smear negative tuberculosis. Diagnosis of smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis is made by an algorithm recommended by the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme that uses symptoms, signs and laboratory results. The objective of this study is to determine the sensitivity and specificity of the tuberculosis treatment algorithm used for the diagnosis of sputum smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis.
