According to some published studies, neuraxial analgesia may be associated with prolonged labor and an increased risk for instrumental vaginal delivery. However, its effects on episiotomy are unknown. This study aimed to examine the incidence of episiotomy with and without combined spinal–epidural analgesia (CSEA) during labor.

Brachial plexus injury in neonates is a rare obstetrical complication, but it can cause huge anxiety to parents if occurring and sometimes leading to legal disputes in obstetrical practice. Trauma during birth delivery is mainly due to the over-stretch of fetal neck which is the main cause of brachial plexus injury in infants. However, those injuries are self-limited and most of them will self-recover. We conducted a retrospective analysis on ten cases diagnosed of post-delivery brachial plexus injury under monitoring at Tu Du Hospital from January to November 2018.

Preterm birth is strongly associated with increasing mortality, incidence of disability, intensity of neonatal care required, and consequent costs. We examined the clinical utility of the potential preterm birth risk factors from admitted pregnant women with symptomatic preterm labor and developed prediction models to obtain information for prolonging pregnancies.

Young women exposed to pregnancy experience greater likelihood of childbirth- related morbidity and mortality, with some countries experiencing mortality rates among women aged 15 - 19 that are as high as twice that of women in their 20s or 30s (WHO, 1989). Physiological under-development increases the likelihood of prolonged or obstructed labor, which may lead to ruptured uterus and death for the mother or fetus (Network, 1994). Negative pregnancy outcomes also result in part from poor prenatal health behavior among young adults, particularly teenage schoolgirls.
