This study is conducted based on the hypothesis of an accident from Fengcheng NPP with an incident level of 7, equivalent to the Fukushima accident. A modeling system has been established with different failure scenarios based on the Delft3D model. The research results will provide more insights into the extent and scope of the incident and the impact of meteorological conditions and dynamics on the propagation and distribution of radiation when an incident occurs.

Ebook "Constitutional dynamic chemistry" focuses on constitutional methods for understanding and controlling such upscale propagation of structural information. These methods show potential to impose further precise order at the mesoscale and to discover new routes to obtain highly ordered ultradense arrays over macroscopic distances.

We investigate the dynamical of pulse propagation and all-optical switching via a spontaneously generated coherence (SGC) in a three-level ladder-type atomic medium driven by a coupling field under the presence of incoherent pumping. Results show that the SGC causes modulations at the leading edge of the pulse envelope shape.

In this paper, we develop the Mickens’ methodology to construct a dynamically consistent Non-Standard Finite Difference (NSFD) scheme for a recognized computer virus propagation model. It is proved that the constructed NSFD scheme correctly preserves essential mathematical features of the continuous-time model, which are positivity, boundedness and asymptotic stability.

A computer virus propagation model with feedback controls is first proposed and investigated. We show that the control variables do not influence on the global stability of the original differential model, they only alter the position of the unique viral equilibrium. The mathematical analyses and numerical simulations show that this equilibrium can be completely eliminated, namely, moved to the origin of coordinates if suitable values of the control variables are chosen. In the other words, the control variables are effective in the prevention of viruses in computer systems.

In this paper, the tensile properties of the monocrystalline gold film are studied by using molecular dynamics simulation. The stress-strain relation, crack growth behavior and effects of different temperature are considered. The results show that the stress concentration is obviously distributed in the middle and corners of the specimen, leading to the cracks are formed and propagated in these positions. Under the tensile process, the transformation from the face-centered cubic (FCC) into hexagonal closest packed (HCP) structures occurred.

The purpose of this work is to present a model of trust computation being defined by means of the context of user’s interests and degrees of direct interaction among peers. A dynamic structure of social network based on a hierarchy of peers into k-layer neighbors w.r.t. a given source peer is investigated. We introduce a similarity measure being constructed from the space of vectors of users’ interests. Up on the location of a target peer w.r.t. the hierarchy, we propose methods of estimating trust values via propagation as well as the similarity.

The main purpose of the present work is to modify and enhance the existing fatigue rig which can be used to perform fatigue experiments on different sections including pipe sections. The structure of this paper is as follows. Section 2 describes the experimental setup used for the fatigue rig, describing the original design and current modifications which includes introducing two new load cells, plastic rollers and sliding flexible jaws to accommodate wide range of section sizes and shapes. Then we describe the instrumentation and data acquisition.

During the pre-monsoon months (March-May) in Nepal, severe thunder and hailstorms cause significant property and agricultural damage in addition to loss of life from lightening. Forecasting thunderstorm severity remains a challenge even in wealthy, developed countries that have modern meteorological data gathering infrastructure, such as Doppler Radar. This study attempts to isolate the specific and unique characteristics of a hailstorm that not only might explain its severity, but also suggest forecasting techniquees for future forecasting in Nepal.

Influences of the intensity and pulse area of the coupling laser on the EIT formation of probe laser pulse are studied in a wide region from micro- to pico-second of pulse duration. It is found that a nearly solition pulse can be established at the smallest pulse area in the pico-second region and with the largest pulse area in the micro-second region.

The quality of phased array and synthetic aperture ultrasonic images is limited by several factors determined by the sound propagation physics and diffraction laws. Image quality is mainly determined by: Resolution, which depends on signal bandwidth (in the axial direction) and on the aperture extent (in the lateral direction); Dynamic range, which is bounded by the ratio of the main to the sidelobes level and is related to the smallest features detection capability.

Abstract—Efficient event delivery in a content-based publish/subscribe system has been a challenging problem. Existing group communication solutions, such as IP multicast or application-level multicast techniques, are not readily applicable due to the highly heterogeneous communication pattern in such systems. We first explore the design space of event routing strategies for content-based publish/subscribe systems.

DNA replication, the process of copying one double stranded DNA molecule to produce two identical copies, is at the heart of cell proliferation. This book highlights new insights into the replication process in eukaryotes, from the assembly of pre-replication complex and features of DNA replication origins, through polymerization mechanisms, to propagation of epigenetic states. It also covers cell cycle control of replication initiation and includes the latest on mechanisms of replication in prokaryotes. The association between genome replication and transcription is also addressed.
