The exponential growth of bioinformatics in the healthcare domain has revolutionized our understanding of DNA, proteins, and other biomolecular entities. This remarkable progress has generated an overwhelming volume of data, necessitating big data technologies for efficient storage and indexing. While big data technologies like Hadoop offer substantial support for big XML file storage, the challenges of indexing data sizes and XPath query performance persist.

Ebook "APC proteins" aimed to provide an overview of the diverse functions performed by the Ape protein. As summarised in a short final chapter by Trainer, heterozygosity ofApe leads to a number ofextracolonic manifestations that further support this emerging picture ofthe Ape protein as an active contributor to many different cellular functions.

Transcriptome analysis of breast cancer discovered distinct disease subtypes of clinical significance. However, it remains a challenge to define disease biology solely based on gene expression because tumor biology is often the result of protein function. Here, we measured global proteome and transcriptome expression in human breast tumors and adjacent non-cancerous tissue and performed an integrated proteotranscriptomic analysis.

The molecular factors which control circulating levels of inflammatory proteins are not well understood. Furthermore, association studies between molecular probes and human traits are often performed by linear modelbased methods which may fail to account for complex structure and interrelationships within molecular datasets.

Traditionally, the transcriptomic and proteomic characterisation of CD4+ T cells at the single-cell level has been performed by two largely exclusive types of technologies: single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and antibody-based cytometry.

The Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome protein (WASp) family of actin-nucleating factors are present in the cytoplasm and in the nucleus. The role of nuclear WASp for T cell development remains incompletely defined. Methods: We performed WASp chromatin immunoprecipitation and deep sequencing (ChIP-seq) in thymocytes and spleen CD4+ T cells.

Ebook "Computational modelling of the human islet amyloid polypeptide" offers readers a comprehensive introduction to amyloid proteins and the computational methods used with them. Katrine Skeby critically assesses and compares both the literature and the experiments performed by other researchers, which further elevates the quality and relevance of her own work.

5’ untranslated regions (5’UTRs) are essential modulators of protein translation. Predicting the impact of 5’UTR variants is challenging and rarely performed in routine diagnostics. Here, we present a combined approach of a comprehensive prioritization strategy and functional assays to evaluate 5’UTR variation in two large cohorts of patients with inherited retinal diseases (IRDs).

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most prevalent cancer in the world, yet the sensitivity and specificity of biomarkers for CRC diagnosis are insufficient. In the present study, we performed a protein microarray screening method to identify antibody markers for CRC. Inhibitor of growth family 1 (ING1) was identified as a candidate tumor antigen for CRC using protein microarrays (ProtoArray).

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is one of the most aggressive malignant tumors. Chromobox (CBX) family plays the role of oncogenes in various malignancies. Methods The transcriptional and protein levels of CBX family were confirmed by GEPIA, Oncomine, CCLE, and HPA database. Screening of co-expressed genes and gene function enrichment analysis were performed by GeneMANIA and DAVID 6.8.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutations frequently manifest with multisystem disease, including cardiomyopathy (CM). Various studies described mutations in protein-encoding mtDNA genes, such as cytochrome-b, manifesting with CM. A detailed clinical, biochemical, and molecular genetic analysis was performed in a 40-year-old male with dilated CM (DCM) to detect the underlying mtDNA defect.

A molecular docking study of three natural acridones, namely citrusinine-I, 5-hydroxynoracronycin, and paratrimerin C on a target enzyme DNA polymerase μ (Pol μ), was performed. In addition, the hydrogen peroxide anion (HOO─ ), a model radical, and delavirdine, a synthetic drug, are used as ligands for docking on this target protein to investigate the activity of the selected compounds to protect Pol μ protein against their harmful effects.

Nucleotide binding site leucine-rich repeats (NBS-LRR) genes encode a large class of disease resistance (R) proteins in plants. Extensive studies have been carried out to identify and investigate NBS-encoding gene families in many important plant species. However, no comprehensive research into NBS-encoding genes in the Rosaceae has been performed.
