Vietnam has implemented several financial policies aimed at promoting a green economy, but during the implementation process, these policies have also revealed some limitations. This article analyzes the experiences of other countries in using financial policies to promote a green economy, and provides recommendations to improve financial policies in order to accelerate Vietnam’s economic greening process.

Equitization is the sole method of state-owned enterprise reform in Vietnam. This paper analyzes the results of a survey on the performance of equitized enterprises. Its findings clarify the causes of pre- and post-equitization differences and the impact of ownership structure on the performance of equitized enterprises, focusing on arising problems in the post-equitization period, particularly those regarding corporate governance.

Our goal is to provide food for thought rather than an off-the-shelf solution. Many of the outside practices we explore are somewhat distant from conventional thinking. We are aware that some of our ideas will be controversial. Responding to the threats posed by air pollution and climate change requires an understanding of the nature and extent of their impacts. Vegetarians of all types can achieve recommended nutrient intakes through careful selection of foods. These individuals should give special attention to their intakes of protein, iron, and vitamin B12, as well as calcium and vitamin D if avoiding milk products. In addition, vegetarians could select only nuts, seeds, and legumes from the meat and beans group, or they could include eggs if so desired. At the 2,000­calorie level, they could choose about 1.5 ounces of nuts and  2 /3 cup legumes instead of 5.5 ounces of meat, poultry, and/or fish.

It is drafted with a view to inform current OECD work on engaging the private sector in financing green growth. Different financing mechanisms are outlined, and suggestions made as to what role governments in general, and pension fund regulatory and supervisory authorities in particular, can play in supporting pension funds investment in this sector.
