A field experiment was conducted to study the changes in mineral status of moringa leaves after heading back and pinching treatments. Three heading back treatments and three pinching treatments were imposed on the moringa trees. The intensity of heading back and time of pruning is crucial for the stability of the tree, proper light penetration and nutrient uptake.

Agroforestry a complex land use system both ecologically and economically have innumerous role to play in conservation of natural resources along with its economic viability. Various tree canopy management activities like pruning and lopping along with applied resources have significant effect on soil. Litter fall, decomposition, leaching and residual effect have great potential on soil health of the system. Present system involving lopped trees and organically mannured crop have shown varying effect on soil properties.

The experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels of pruning and foliar feeding of nutrients on growth, sugar content and yield of Phalsa (Grewia subinaequalis D.C.). The pruning level at 25 cm above ground level had significantly maximum shoot length (210.25 cm) and number of leaves per shoot (85.27). While, number of shoots per plant (30.60) was recorded highest with pruning at 50cm above ground level.

The present investigation entitled “Response of pruning techniques on yield in high density planting of guava cv. L-49” experiment was conducted on 11 years old healthy, vigorous high density plantation. The treatments comprised of four spacing’s viz; 2 x 1 m (M1), 2 x 2 m (M2), 3 x 3 (M3) and 3 x 6 m (M4) and three pruning intensity i.e. upto last two season growth (S1), upto last three season growth (S2) and upto last four season growth (S3) with six plants in a treatment replicated three times in split plot design.

Pruning of guava cv. Allahabad Safeda under high density planting was done in the third week of June, 2013 with three pruning intensities i.e. leaving 10 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm from base of the shoot and retaining 30, 40 and 50 fruits per tree. Ten centimeter (10 cm) pruning intensity has advanced the vegetative bud appearance, maximum fruit diameter at harvest, average fruit weight and fruit yield.

In the present study, highest TSS content was recorded in ferigation treatment F1 (14.32o Brix), pruning treament while it was not affected by pruning and crops load treatments. Among all fertigation treatments, the highest total sugar (9.24 %) was registered in fertigation treatment F1 while highest total sugar was recorded in pruning treatment P1 (8.82 %) and among crops load, C1 treatment recorded highest sugar content (9.14 %).

An experiment was conducted to standardize the renewal pruning intensities under different irrigation and nitrogen levels for getting better yield and quality fruits in Santa Rosa plum. There were three irrigation levels, four pruning severities and two nitrogen levels. Pruning was done in the month of January every year. Pruning treatments exhibited a significant effect on fruit set during both the years of study.

The experiment was carried out at dusty acre farm, Department of Forestry, College of Agriculture, J.N.K.V.V. Jabalpur during the year 2014- 2015. Manipulation in agronomical practice like higher seed rate, fertilizer dose with different pruning intensities which can compensate the yield reduction to shade under agrisilviculture system. The experiment consists of four pruning intensities viz., no pruning, 25% pruning, 50% pruning and 75% pruning and one open condition (no tree crop only) in main plot and three levels of fertilizer doses and seed rate viz.

A field experiment was conducted at Main Experiment Station, Department of Horticulture, NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.). Pruning of Phalsa at 50 cm above ground level combined with ZnSO₄ 0.4% increased number of shoot and fruiting nodes closely followed by Urea 2% and K₂ SO₄ 0.2% with pruning at 50 cm above ground level. Better response was obtained with fruit yield attributing attributes also. The fruit quality in terms of TSS, acidity, ascorbic acid content, juice percent and sugar content were better with ZnSO4 0.

The present investigation was carried to evaluate the effect of different pruning intensities on growth and yield of nectarine cv. Snow Queen at fruit research farm, SKUASTKashmir Shalimar Srinagar during the year 2016 and 2017. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with nine pruning treatments and three replications. The results obtained revealed that there is a significant increase in shoot growth and leaf area with highest pruning intensity viz., 2/3rd head back and 20 % thinning out.

The present study was conducted with objective to know the effect of different pruning intensity and plant growth regulators on yield and quality of Gola cultivar. The present was comprised four different pruning intensity of previous season growth viz., P0 – no pruning, P1- 25 % pruning, P2- 50 % pruning, P3- 75 % pruning and plant growth regulators viz., C0- control, C1- GA3 @ 10 ppm and C2- NAA @10 ppm. Significantly higher fruit weight (23.69 g) has been recorded with 75% pruning intensity + NAA 10ppm followed by 75% pruning intensity + GA₃ 10 ppm and least being in control.
