Pruning on growth characteristics

Experiment was conducted at Vegetable Research Farm, Department of Vegetable Science and Floriculture, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur during spring-summer 2016 and autumn-winter 2016-17 seasons to study the influence of spacing and pruning on growth characteristics, yield and economics of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) grown under protected environment.

A trail was conducted to assess the growth performance of quails with the tree leaf meal prepared using leaves pruned from Gliricidia sepium in silvipasture. 250 Nos. of quails were randomly divided into five treatment groups, 50 quails in each treatment. Group-1 fed with control diet without tree fodder, group-2, 3, 4 and 5 were fed with tree fodder included diet @ 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00 per cent level.

Efhami Sisi et al., in Chapter Four, review the effect of management practices on anatomical, physiological and morphological characteristics of trees in agroforestry systems. They specifically assess the impact of initial spacing between trees and treecrop inter-planting on tree growth and wood properties in a tree-alfalfa intercropping system in a temperate region.
