The expressions of Prunus dulcis C-repeat-binding factors (PdCBF1) and (PdCBF2) genes that are the major components in the cold responsive network of plants were studied in almonds. Real time PCR analysis of buds revealed the differential expression pattern of PpFT, PabSOC1, PdCBF1, PdCBF2 genes. The expressions of PpFT and PabSOC1 correlated with each other. Similarly, the expressions of PdCBF1 and PdCBF2 genes revealed a similar expression pattern in almonds. However, the expression of flowering genes were inversely correlated with the cold response genes in most of the almond accessions.

Under cultivation, many outcrossing fruit tree species have switched from sexual reproduction to vegetative propagation. Traditional production systems have persisted, where cultivar propagation is based on a mixed reproductive system. For millenia, almond, Prunus dulcis, has been propagated by seeds.

Almond is known for its nutritive value and is popularly consumed in India after overnight soaking. It is rich in lipid profile, polyphenols content followed by vitamin-E and also found rich in minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium and phosphorus which play important biological roles in the human body. There are different types of almond varieties present in India which include commercial types and wild types. The present study aims at Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) characterisation of the four popular varieties of almond from Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh (India) viz.

Milk shake is a frozen dairy product, prepared from milk and ice cream mixing into mixer to make it pourable and generate foam in it. It can be made more nutritious and health protector with addition of almond (Prunus dulcis) due to its rich mineral contents, zero cholesterol level, and health invigorating antioxidant, anti-cancerous and antibacterial properties against harmful pathogens. There has been no scientific study on milk shake blended with almond (Prunus dulcis) particularly from buffalo milk, which is more nutritious, and rank higher with respect to sensory appeal over cow milk.

Culture medium development methods are time-consuming, laborious, and require a large amount of experimental materials. The Nas hypothesis for the development of a micropropagation medium offers a less time-consuming and a less laborious approach.

In order to determine the overall degree of polymorphism and detect similarities among genotypes, 19 almond [Prunus dulcis (Mill.) D.A.Webb] genotypes were studied. Variation in traits related to phenology, morphology, and fruit quality was observed, and the results indicated a high morphological diversity of almond genotypes.
