Trends in non-invasive measurements of blood hemoglobin (Hb) may be useful for identifying the need for transfusion in the perioperative period. Methods: Crystalloid fluid (5–20 mL/kg) was administered intravenously or by mouth to 30 volunteers and 33 surgical patients in five non-randomized clinical studies where Hb was measured on 915 occasions by non-invasive (Radical-7™) and invasive methodology. The hemodilution curves were compared by volume kinetic analysis and linear regression, with the slope and scattering of the data as key outcome measures.

The Jammu and Kashmir has a varied type of climate from sub-tropical to cold arid. The main crops grown in the state are rice, maize, wheat, pulses, oil seeds, saffron etc. The cultivation of Saffron is mostly confined to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In Kashmir saffron cultivation is peculiar and the legend about its introduction in to Kashmir shows that it is an ancient industry about 2200 years’ old. The effect of increasing levels of nitrogen on organic carbon and nutrient status under finger millet, maize and field bean, cultivated soil was studied in the experiment. Experiment was conducted at AICRPDA, under rainfed condition. Split plot design was used which consist of three levels of nitrogen viz., high (100% Recommended dose RD), medium (50% RD) and low (no application of nitrogen) as subplot and type of crop grown as finger millet, field bean and maize were grown as main plot under rainfed condition.

The secondary data were collected for area and production of pulses for the period of 1979–80 to 2011-12. The study period was classified as Pre WTO (World Trade Organization) era and Post WTO era. For the estimation of the trends in area and production and to measure the association in productivity we use Mann-Kendall test.
