  • Pulses are the main source of quality protein and a rich source of energy, minerals and certain vitamins. The study was conducted in Jaipur district of Rajasthan. Jaipur district comprises of sixteen tehsils, out of which 3 tehsils viz., Dudu, Phulera and Phagi were selected purposely. Two gram panchayats were selected randomly from each tehsils. Two revenue villages were selected from each selected gram panchayat on the basis of random sampling method.

  • Growing inclination towards Zero Budget Natural farming (ZBNF) in India to reduce expenditure on external input and to reduce indebtness of farmers, a study was under taken on evaluation of Jeevamrut, prepared by mixing cow dung, cow urine, pulse flour, jaggery and soil, and its constituents for management of Alternaria leaf spot caused by Alternaria alternata in organic mungbean under cage house condition as well as against the pathogen in-vitro, as the disease is quite destructive in all mungbean growing areas of southern Rajasthan.

  • The injudicious and indiscriminate application of pesticides to crops results in pesticide residues in food and food commodities with consequential hazards. The extent of hazard depends on the number of pesticide residues on crops and their toxicity. The main objective of this study was focused on determining the likely presence of pesticide residues in cereals and pulse samples in Sikrai Tehsil Dausa district, Rajasthan. The study was carried out for the year 2017 and 2018. 150 samples were taken from different farms and market analyzed using GC-MS/MS& LC-MS/MS.

  • Blackgram is a major kharif pulse crop in Kota district of Rajasthan, which covers more than 25 percent acreage of kharif sown area of the district. However, average yield of the district varying between 5-7.25 q ha-1 which can be enhanced up to 10 q ha-1 or more by the adoption of new varieties and recommended agro-techniques. To demonstrate improved production technologies, cluster front-line demonstrations were conducted on blackgram crop by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kota, during kharif 2016 to 2018 on 260 farmer fields of the district.

  • In view of the importance of pulses in Indian dietary system and agriculture sector in state economy several attempts have been made to study the trends in area and production of pulses crops which reveal the growth performance. The secondary data were collected for area and production of pulses for the period of 1979–80 to 2011-12. The study period was classified as Pre WTO (World Trade Organization) era and Post WTO era. For the estimation of the trends in area and production and to measure the association in productivity we use Mann-Kendall test.

  • Mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) also known as green gram, is an important pulse crop providing vegetable protein for people throughout the world. It is being suffered by several fungal, bacterial and viral diseases but dry root rot of mungbean incited by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. is the most common problem in mungbean growing areas of Rajasthan (India). The total sugar, reducing sugar, non reducing sugar and soluble protein were higher in healthy roots as compared to diseased roots in all the tested varieties i.e., SML-668, MH-2-15 and IPM-02-03.
