Rice plays a vital role in the national food grain supply and is the main driver of India’s food security. Despite having a firm footage on rice cultivation, India is facing a formidable challenge to feed its burgeoning population.Seed is a vital and essential input for attaining sustained growth in agriculture production and productivity. Hence, the present study was taken up to identify the preferences of farmers while purchasing seed from various sources and to estimate the source-wise per unit cost of seed in Nalgonda district of Telangana.

A case study was conducted by Agricultural Extension Education Center, Koppal with an innovative ground nut grower and small scale entrepreneur for a period of two years. Cold press oil extraction unit established by the farmer could successfully extract 3.60 tons of oil seeds in a month with a net savings of Rs. 16485. The unit became self sustain in a span of one year and could generate employment of 365 man days. The consumers are satisfied with the quality and purity of oil which they purchased for consumption.

Interaction between Root-knot Nematode and Rhizobia was evaluated in the green house on moong variety (SML-668). Seeds of the moong variety were sown in sterilized potted sandy soil and inoculated with 1000 freshly hatched juveniles of root knot nematode and 2ml rhizobia per pot (purchased from market).

Indian agriculture is characterized by the ownerships of small land holdings. The small holdings are used for mainly production of food crops. The small farmers inadequately use fertilizers and without or meager irrigation can produce only one crop in a year, which is turn make the farmers economic condition not only pathetic also lead to inability to purchase input required for farming, like fertilizers, good quality seeds etc.

As part of the ING Direct Consumer Savings Monitor quarterly tracking, we ask survey recipients to record their current level of outstanding unsecured debts from credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans and hire-purchase agreements. Outstanding debts refer to those remaining after bills have been paid (so credit paid off in full each month would not be included). Using this data we produce a mean average. In 1886, Congress appropriated $10,000 for the Department of Agriculture to purchase seed for drought-stricken farmers in Texas, but President Grover Cleveland vetoed the act with the message, “Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of government and weakens the sturdiness of our national character” (Porter, 1988).

The purpose of the study was to analyze the current practice of shrimp farming in the north central Vietnam, to evaluate the status of agricultural production and economic conditions - social and environment, and determine the limit application of better management practices. The report presents the results of a survey of 90 shrimp farmers in north-central provinces of Vietnam (Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thua Thien-Hue). Shrimp production costs mainly by feeding (average 65% of total cost) for different varieties of food between provinces.
