From samples of moldy wall paint and damaged water-based paint, we isolated and quantified the density of microorganisms present in the samples and determined the morphology of the isolates; thereby, identifying the genera of the bacteria and mold strains.

This paper reports effects of ultraviolet (UV) light radiation on the physicochemical, electrical and mechanical properties of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) cable insulating materials. Changes in structural and morphological properties of UV-aged samples were characterized by various analytical methods such as attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATRFTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM).

Gravity data inversion or interpretation requires the removal of the gravitational effects of the a priori known geologic and/or morphologic features within the Earth’s system to model and reveal the remaining signals of the unknown anomalous subsurface density distributions. The Bouguer gravity anomalies reduced by the normal gravitational field of the Earth and the gravitational attraction of the topographic masses above the sea level are frequently used in geophysics for this purpose.

Some species are exceptionally common in landscapes heavily impacted by humans, such as agricultural lands. This study was carried out over a period of 2 years (July 2012 to June 2014) in the arid agricultural landscape of Pothwar Plateau, Pakistan, to identify adaptations that govern bird distribution and abundance across 2 different cropping systems associated with differences in water availability. We used regular surveys and foraging observations to quantify species abundance, distribution, and habits. We then examined morphological correlations with ecological attributes.

The structure and morphology of synthesized materials were examined by X–ray diffraction, Scanning electronic microscopy and Raman vibrational micro–spectroscopy. The electrochemical performances of doped materials were studied in Swagelok–type cell using LiPF6/EC–DMC (1:1) as electrolyte. LiFe1–xNixPO4 was shown to exhibit homogenous particles size of 50 ÷ 150 nm. The doped materials were titrated to quantify iron and nickel contents in samples. As anticipated, the electrochemical performances of LiFe1–xNixPO4were significantly enhanced compared to those of undoped LiFePO4.

We present novel metrics for parse evaluation in joint segmentation and parsing scenarios where the gold sequence of terminals is not known in advance. The protocol uses distance-based metrics defined for the space of trees over lattices. Our metrics allow us to precisely quantify the performance gap between non-realistic parsing scenarios (assuming gold segmented and tagged input) and realistic ones (not assuming gold segmentation and tags).
