A mass-type sensor was prepared by coating γFe2O3 NPs on the active electrode of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The obtained results of the γ-Fe2O3 NPs based QCM sensor indicate the high response and good repeatability toward SO2 gas in the range of 2.5 – 20 ppm at room temperature.

Determining the blood glucose level is important for the prevention and treatment of diabetes mellitus. We developed a sensor system using Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) to determine the blood glucose level from human blood serum. This study consists of two experimental stages: artificial glucose/pure water solution tests and human blood serum tests. In the first stage of the study, the QCM sensor with the highest performance was identified using artificial glucose solution concentrations.

Iron oxide nanorods were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method. The structural and morphological characteristics of the as-synthesized nanorods were analyzed by Xray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the iron oxide nanorods include the mixture of Fe3O4, γ-Fe2O3 and FeOOH with the diameter and the length of iron oxide nanorods to be 30 and 100 nm, respectively. The iron oxide nanorods were then dispersed and deposited on the gold electrode of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) for the gas sensor.

Amorphous molybdenum sulfide (MoSx ) is an attractive Pt-free catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in both neutral and acidic pH electrolytes. Among the available approaches for the preparation of MoSx , the electrochemical oxidation and reduction of a tetrathiomolybdate salt ([MoS4 ] 2-) represents the most convenient. In this report, the poly(Tyramine) (PTyr) film structure was further studied and determined, based on IR (Infrared), XPS (X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy), EQCM (Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance) results. Especially, the immobilization capacity of PTyr was investigated by EQCM in situ measurement. The results showed the film porosity had increased the immobilization capacity of PTyr, compared to other polymer film with the same NH2 surface concentration.
