In this paper, we propose an opportunistic cooperative scheme for single-hop wireless networks that exploits the signal-to-noise ratio and the remaining queue length at each potential relay to choose the best relay for the source-destination link.

In order to more contribution to the next-generation network, these routing protocols should be more flexible, saving energy, and performance achievable. In this paper, we propose a multi-metric on-demand routing protocol based on three parameters: queue length, route quality, and hops number to improve the MANET performance. Base on the working conditions of the network system. One or more routing metrics will be integrated into the cost function. Besides, we also performance evaluation of the MM-AODV compared with traditional routing protocols such as AODV and DSR.

This paper presents a decision model that uses empirical Bayesian estimation to construct a server-dependent M/M/2/L queuing system. A Markovian queue with a number of servers depending upon queue length with finite capacity is discussed. This study uses the number of customers for initiating and turning off the second server as decision variables to formulate the expected cost minimization model.

SQL/LPP is a system that adds time-series extensions to SQL [Perng and Parker 1999]. SQL/LPP models time-series as attributed queues (queues aug- mented with attributes that are used to hold aggregate values and are updated uponmodifications to the queue). Each time-series is partitioned into segments that are stored in the database. The SQL/LPP optimizer uses pattern-length analysis to prune the search space and deduce properties of composite pat- terns from properties of the simple patterns.

The estimation of these quantites arises in many research areas such as in physics and engineering problems. When an interface on a router cannot transmit a packet immediately, the packet is queued, either in an interface Tx ring, or the interface output hold queue, depending on the switching path used. Packets are then taken out of the queue and eventually transmitted on the interface. If the arrival rate of packets to the output interface exceeds the router’s capability to buffer and forward traffic, the queues increase to their maximum length and the interface becomes congested. Tail drop is the router’s default queuing response to congestion.
