The study indicated better plant growth, number of umbels plant-1, number of umbellate umbel-1, number of seeds umbellate1, 1000 seed weight, seed yield as well as stover yield and protein content in seeds of fennel. Drip Irrigation at 1.0 PEF (I3) recorded significantly the highest seed yield (1833 kg ha-1) and stalk yield (2867 kg ha-1) over drip irrigation at 0.6 PEF.

Genetic variability, heritability and correlation at genotypic and phenotypic levels and path analysis were studied for various yield and its component characters in seventy five S6 progenies along with five checks of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) during Rabi, 2009-10. Analysis of variance revealed significant difference for all the characters indicating the presence of good amount of variability in the S6 progenies studied. The estimates of GCV along with PCV, heritability and genetic advance as percentage of mean were higher for seed yield per plant.

Fifty Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) genotypes collected from different agro – climatic zones (Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar) for their yield and yield attributing traits on pooled data (Rabi seasons of 2015-16 and 2016-17) recorded that there is a wide range of variability for the traits under study.
