Rabi groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)
-
The study was conducted at the Education and Research Farm of the Department of Botany, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra state during the kharif and rabi2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, to study the “Effect of seasons and plant spacings on quality parameters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes”. The experiment was laid out in split plot design replicated three times. The main plot treatment consists of two seasons (kharif and rabi); however, sub plot treatments consist of eleven groundnut genotypes.

Therefore, it is essential to find ways and means to increase the efficiency of phosphate rock either by using it alone or as a mixture of phosphate rock and water soluble P fertilizer. A field experiment was conducted during rabi seasons of 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 study the effect of various sources of phosphorus on yield, nutrient uptake and economics of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L) under acid Alfisols of Odisha.

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a major oilseed crop of our country and edible oil economy primarily depends upon groundnut production. Intensive cropping leads to deficiency of secondary and micronutrients, which is the main constraint for low yield of groundnut. Field experiment was conducted at agricultural college farm, Mahanandi during rabi season, 2015-16 to study the response of groundnut to secondary and micronutrients.

Genetic parameters, variability, heritability and genetic advance were studied among 20 groundnut cultures rabi-2016-17 to study the variation and to identify traits of high heritability. The characters hundred kernel weight, hundred pod weight, dry pod yield and kernel yield had high GCV, heritability and GAM were found to be under the control of additive gene action, while the traits shelling percentage, sound mature kernel and final plant stand with moderate heritability and high genetic advance appeared to be under the predominant influence of additive gene action.

Bio-efficacy of newer molecules of insecticides against sucking pests of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) was studied during July to October 2016, at Reasearch farm, College of agriculture, Kolhapur. Groundnut crop was infested by Jassid (Empoasca kerri Pruthi), Thrips (Scirtotharips dorsalis Hood). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with eight treatment and three replications with view to find out the effective insecticides against sucking pest of groundnut at Agronomy field, college of agriculture Kolhapur during Rabi 2016-17.

Herbicide is the most important input in the modern agriculture. The use of herbicides has been expanding more rapidly than that of other pesticides. The injudicious application of herbicides in agriculture causes the contamination of the soil with toxic chemicals and become harmful to the microorganisms, plant, wildlife and man. In view of the above a field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2015-16 with the groundnut variety TAG-24 with twenty four treatment combination in three replications.
