Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and radiological profile of patients diagnosed with PC who received surgical resection between May 2015 and November 2020 in a tertiary referral center.

We compared the perioperative results and complications associated with PLIF and TLIF, and collected evidence for choosing the better fusion method. The evidence indicated that TLIF could reduce the complication rate and durotomy. Neither TLIP nor PLIF was found superior in terms of clinical satisfaction or radiographic fusion rate. PLIF might result in longer time in surgery.

This study was performed to analyze the clinical manifestations, imaging features, and prognosis of Takayasu’s arteritis (TA) with pulmonary arteritis (PA). Methods: In total, 51 of 815 patients with TA were diagnosed with PA at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 1986 to 2015. Small lung nodule is a common problem in pulmonary practice. The definition of a classical solitary pulmonary nodule is a single, spherical, well-circumscribed, radiographic opacity less than or equal to 30 mm in diameter that is completely surrounded by aerated lung and is not associated with atelectasis, hilar enlargement, or pleural effusion. Ideally, the goal of diagnosis and management is to promptly bring to surgery all patients with operable malignant nodules while avoiding unnecessary thoracotomy in patients with benign disease.

When a complication of acute rhinosinusitis or an alter- native diagnosis is suspected, imaging studies may be ob- tained. Complications of ABRS include orbital, intracranial, or soft tissue involvement. Alternative diagnoses include malignancy and other noninfectious causes of facial pain. Radiographic imaging may also be obtained when the pa- tient has modifying factors or comorbidities that predispose to complications, including diabetes, immune compromised state, or a past history of facial trauma or surgery.

Our aim was to evaluate the effect of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease stage on chest radiographic (CXR) findings among patients with HIV-related pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Data are from a prospective multicenter treatment trial for HIV-related TB. Baseline CXR findings and CD4/ lymphocyte counts were compared among patients with HIV-related TB. Data from published studies describing CXR findings in HIV-infected patients were reviewed and a pooleddata analysis was conducted. Of 135 patients with culture-confirmed HIV-related TB, 128 had both CXR and CD4/ lymphocyte data.

The Institutional Review Board approved this retrospective study, with a waiver of informed consent from the patients. TB outbreaks occurred in 15 senior high schools and chest radiographs from 58 students with identical strains of TB were analyzed by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis by two independent observers. Lesions of nodule(s), consolidation, or cavitation in the upper lung zones were classified as typical TB.
