The knowledge and information on the rainfall dynamics and its distribution over the cropping season are very important for selection of crop varieties and choice of cropping pattern. Block wise historical rainfall data of 24 years (1995 to 2018) of Cuttack District were collected and processed by using Weather cock software to estimate annual, seasonal and monthly rainfall. The analysis of rainfall revealed that the total mean annual rainfall of the district is 1597 mm.

The aim of the present study is to analysis rainfall time series, detecting potential trends and assessing their significance. The present study shows the increase in southwest monsoon rainfall and decline in post monsoon rainfall for all the districts of south Gujarat. Similarly annual rainfall Navsari and Bharuch districts reveals decline, but at Dang, Valsad and Surat acknowledges increasing rainfall pattern on most of decades.

This paper presents a comparison of four different rainfall data sources: rainfalls from TRMM and GPM satellites, PERSIANN system, and in-situ measurements at meteorological stations. The data from TRMM and GPM satellites have been used by many countries. A wheat growth model that includes the direct responses of canopy photosynthesis and transpiration to elevated CO2, and the response of crop growth to water stress has been developed and tested. Sensitivity analyses show that different cultivars have quite different responses to changes in ambient air temperature, ambient CO2 concentration and rainfall. Because crops reach maturity earlier under higher temperature, an increase of 3 oC may not impose further water stress to growth of a wheat crop.

Rainfall plays an important role in agricultural production system. Studying the rainfall distribution through the statistical models is also essential in agricultural field. In this paper, an attempt has been made to show the pattern of rainfall in TNAU1 Station Coimbatore through the Statistical distributions. In the study, the different statistical distributions are fitted for seasonal rainfall data and the best fit is determined. The historical rainfall data were collected for 34 years (1982 -2015) from the Meteorological Observatory AC & RI Coimbatore.
