  • The results indicate a statistically significant increase in extreme rainfall at the expense of light, moderate, and heavy rainfall over time. The only negative relationship is found in dry days. The most statistically significant trends exist in the 99th percentile, maximum, and R100 parameters with p-values of 0.07, 0.08, and 0.11, respectively

  • In 2018 and 2019, Kerala experienced several episodes of unprecedented floods and landslides. Every information pertaining to the carbon cycle is gaining relevance in the pursuit of adaptation strategies. Hence the present analysis was undertaken to assess the change in pH of water which has indirect effect on carbon cycle and rainfall pattern.

  • Droughts happen when there is not enough rainfall for a longer period of time. When there is so little precipitation (rainfall, snow etc.) the whole region starts to dry out. Sometimes a drought take decades to develop fully and they are very difficult to predict. Rainfall data of 15 years (2001-2015) based on standard weeks was analyzed for Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.

  • The knowledge and information on the rainfall dynamics and its distribution over the cropping season are very important for selection of crop varieties and choice of cropping pattern. Block wise historical rainfall data of 24 years (1995 to 2018) of Cuttack District were collected and processed by using Weather cock software to estimate annual, seasonal and monthly rainfall. The analysis of rainfall revealed that the total mean annual rainfall of the district is 1597 mm.

  • The aim of the present study is to analysis rainfall time series, detecting potential trends and assessing their significance. The present study shows the increase in southwest monsoon rainfall and decline in post monsoon rainfall for all the districts of south Gujarat. Similarly annual rainfall Navsari and Bharuch districts reveals decline, but at Dang, Valsad and Surat acknowledges increasing rainfall pattern on most of decades.

  • West Bengal is a State where agriculture is mainly dependent on monsoon rainfall. But, erratic rainfall patterns cause a major negative impact on annual food-grain production. Time series forecasting has evolved as a major tool in different applications in hydrology and environmental management fields. The prediction of rainfall on time scales although scientifically challenging is nonetheless very important for decisive planning of agricultural strategies.

  • This paper presents a comparison of four different rainfall data sources: rainfalls from TRMM and GPM satellites, PERSIANN system, and in-situ measurements at meteorological stations. The data from TRMM and GPM satellites have been used by many countries. The comparisons of rainfall data from satellites or the online metadata system with in-situ measurement present a similar pattern of spatial distribution between these resources but the amounts of rainfall are quite different.

  • Aerial biomass forms an essential ingredient of air. Air is one of the most essential requirements for the survival of mankind and other animals on this planet. The quality and composition of air change with the change in aerial biomass. Meteorological factors viz. temperature (T), relative humidity (RH) and rainfall (RF) affect the composition of air. Meteorological factors affect the health of people by changing the composition of air we breathe. A study was done to assess the impact of meteorological factors on aerial biomass and hence on health of the people.

  • The study the drought pattern during pre and post global warming behind for different districts of Chhattisgarh the drought pattern in the back drop of climate change due to global warming was examined. It is very clear from the analysis that the number drought years in a 40 years period had drastically increased during post global warming period (1971-2010) as compared to pre global warming period. This a clear evidence of the impact of regional climate changes due to global warming on the rainfall pattern in all the districts of Chhattisgarh state.

  • A wheat growth model that includes the direct responses of canopy photosynthesis and transpiration to elevated CO2, and the response of crop growth to water stress has been developed and tested. Sensitivity analyses show that different cultivars have quite different responses to changes in ambient air temperature, ambient CO2 concentration and rainfall. Because crops reach maturity earlier under higher temperature, an increase of 3 oC may not impose further water stress to growth of a wheat crop.

Present scenario of weather fallouts at destructing besides allocating rainfall pattern leading to different water stress. In some part of U.P, especially eastern U.P will face in temperature (3 to 5ºC up to 2050) as per SAPCC, due to increase in rate of transpiration that will rise demand. To cope up with coming situation the experiment was conducted at Central Agricultural field, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, U.P on wheat variety (HD-2967).

  • The study of precipitation variability is critically important for a country like India whose food security and economy are dependent on the timely availability of water. Among the climatic elements, the rainfall is the first index, ever thought of by farmers and climatic analyzers as it is the most important single factor, which determines the cropping pattern of an area in general, the type of crop to be cultivated and its success or failure in particular.

  • Rainfall plays an important role in agricultural production system. Studying the rainfall distribution through the statistical models is also essential in agricultural field. In this paper, an attempt has been made to show the pattern of rainfall in TNAU1 Station Coimbatore through the Statistical distributions. In the study, the different statistical distributions are fitted for seasonal rainfall data and the best fit is determined. The historical rainfall data were collected for 34 years (1982 -2015) from the Meteorological Observatory AC & RI Coimbatore.
