Genetic diversity among 28 sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) varieties was examined at DNA level by means of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. Fifteen primers used produced a total of 132 RAPD fragments. Each primer generated 3 to 26 amplified fragments with an average of 8.8 bands per primer. Based on pair-wise comparisons of RAPD amplification products, Nei and Li’s similarity coefficients were computed to assess the associations among the varieties. Pair-wise similarity indices varied from 0.35 to 0.84.

Urdbean or black gram is one of the most important cultivated pulse crops of the ‘Vigna’ group. Seeing to the importance as a major pulse crop a research study was carried out on sample farms to work out the costs and profitability of urdbean. A multi-stage random sampling technique was adopted for data collection; the study was conducted in Lailunga block of Raigarh district (C.G.), sample of 3 villages of this block was selected randomly. A sample of 60 farmers in the ratio of 20:20:20 was selected randomly. The farmers were classified into three groups viz., small (4.0 hectares) farms.

This study aimed to assess the effect of a single IM injection of hydrocortisone succinate in relieving the immediate post-varicocelectomy scrotal edema. In all, 117 patients with grades II and III varicocele who developed post-varicocelectomy scrotal edema were randomly classified into group A (n = 59) that received a single IM hydrocortisone sodium succinate injection plus ordinary post-operative treatment and Group B (n = 58), which received the post-operative treatment alone.
