Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to evaluate genetic similarity and phylogenetic relationship among ten pomegranate cultivars. 14 decamer primers of OPF series were selected, produced a total of 114 bands; some species or cultivar specific bands were also obtained using RAPD markers. The number of amplified DNA bands varied between 3 (primer OPF-12) and 11 (primer OPF 3 and OPF 6).

Using molecular markers one can examine genetic diversity of species, cultivars, lines and forms of sunflower, identify genotypes, systematize collection material, classify heterosis groups and construct genetic maps. Fourteen parental genotypes of sunflower viz.,CMS-2A, CMS-821A, CMS-850A, R-10-46-2A, CMS-A4, CMS-A6, CMS-A10, R-GM-39, R-GM-41, R-GM-49, R-GM-69, 83-Br, R-393 and R2F01120B were analyzed for genetic diversity using 15 RAPD and 44 SSR primers. The genetic similarity index computed considering pooled data of SSR and RAPD markers showed very wide range from 0.18 to 0.

Soybean is an important legume and oilseed crop with high protein (40%) and oil (20%). RAPD markers were used to access the genetic diversity among twenty four soybean genotypes. A total of Twenty primers were used out of which 18 got amplified which produced 164 bands and all were found polymorphic i.e. 100% polymorphism. The total number of amplified bands varied between 2 (OPF-19) and 16 (OPA-01) with an average of 9.1 bands per primer.

This study was thus undertaken to assess genetic diversity among the different parents used for hybridization and confirmation of hybrids of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) by using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. RAPD profiles for 11 genotypes were generated with 20 random decamer primers. Out of 20 primers screened 15 primers gave scorable DNA fragments and each of the 15 primers revealed various levels of polymorphism. These primers generated 476 DNA fragments in the average range of 167bp to 3300bp, of which 367 were polymorphic.

Genetic diversity among 28 sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) varieties was examined at DNA level by means of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. Fifteen primers used produced a total of 132 RAPD fragments. Each primer generated 3 to 26 amplified fragments with an average of 8.8 bands per primer. Based on pair-wise comparisons of RAPD amplification products, Nei and Li’s similarity coefficients were computed to assess the associations among the varieties. Pair-wise similarity indices varied from 0.35 to 0.84.

Tomato leaf curl virus (ToLCV) is a very important pathogen in the tomato grown belt of India and world as a whole. It persist wide diversity and many isolate has been identified however molecular marker has represented its usability for the same. ToLCV can’t transmit by itself, it require a vector for the transmission and Bemisia tabaci serve the purpose. This vector has a vast host range and show a wide diversity. Many biotypes were identified based on their morphological characteristics and RAPD–PCR analysis viz B, Q, Cv biotypes.

Cultural and genetic diversity of Rhizoctonia bataticola causing dry root of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) crop were studied during 2018-19 at VNMKV, Parbhani. In present studies, isolate Rb-6 , exhibited maximum mycelial growth of (90.00mm), followed by Rb-9 (89.50mm) and Rb-2 (88.50mm) indicated a great cultural variability amongst R. bataticola isolates, whereas, in case of genetic variability when a dendrogram generated based on UPGMA analysis of RAPD data grouped all of the 9 test isolates (R. bataticola) into two major clusters. The cluster I included 6 isolates viz.
