NS1 antigen, known as Non Structural antigen is an important antigenic component of Dengue Virus. Dengue virus is transmitted by bite of Aedes aegyptii mosquito. Hemorrhagic manifestations and shock syndrome are most dreaded complications of Dengue IgM antibody is produced in Acute phase and IgG in later phases of Dengue and may remain for very long periods.

Dengue Fever is a Flaviviral infection transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes. It is a major public health issue in tropical and subtropical countries. Dengue virus is having four serotypes. It may progress to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which can lead to Dengue Shock Syndrome and death. The study was conducted in the Department of Microbiology. K S. Hegde Medical Academy with the blood samples collected from the patients with clinical diagnoses of Dengue without any age or gender restriction. The samples were collected from the period of October 2015 to April 2017.

The prevalence of lymphatic filariasis caused by Wuchereria bancrofti is very high in certain geographical regions and it is one of the neglected tropical diseases targeted for global elimination. So, there is an urgent need for the detection of circulating filarial antigen by rapid immunoassay in Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GPELF). This programme as a public health aspect focuses on mass drug delivery after community diagnosis.

Dengue fever is an arthropod borne viral disease present as either a non-specific illness, dengue fever (DF) or DHF, DSS leading to hospitalization or death. In routine laboratories diagnosis is mainly based on the detection of dengue antigens (NS1) or antibodies (IgM and IgG) by ELISA kits. Objectives of the study are to find out the seropositivity of dengue virus infection in patients admitted in a tertiary care hospital and to study the clinical presentation of dengue in serologically diagnosed cases. The study was conducted Department of Microbiology, GMC Aurangabad.

Hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus share common modes of transmission i.e. by blood and blood products mainly and also noticed in drug addicts. Hepatitis B virus and Hepatitis C virus have been recognized as a major pathogen causing significant morbidity and mortality throughout the world including India. The most important markers for HBV and HCV infection are HBsAg and Anti HCV antibodies respectively. Detection of infection markers for these agents is a major challenge in a resource poor setting.

The treatment of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is challenging because of their high resistance to different antibiotics. The objectives of this study were to detect the prevelance of S. aureus and MRSA carriage in ICU patients in Al Quwayiyah General Hospital and to evaluate the performance of MRSA-Select agar media for rapid screening of MRSA Furthermore, to describe the antibiotic susceptibility patterns of the S. aureus and MRSA isolates. During the period from January to July 2018, a total of 278 patients admitted to the ICUs were screened for MRSA.

Hepatitis B is one of the major Global health problems affecting both developing and developed countries. Hepatitis B is caused by Hepatitis B virus which spreads parentally through blood and sexual contact. There are many markers which gives information regarding stages of hepatitis B viral infection. The HBsAg is used for detection and screening of HBV infection. Aim: The study was carried to compare different parameters viz. sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values of two immunochromatographic Rapid tests with ELISA for HBsAg. Study Design.

A single step test card for field screening of pesticide residues in vegetables based on simultaneous inhibition and reaction of cholinesterase was previously proposed. Here, favorable conditions to immobilize cholinesterase on filter paper for bulk production of this test card were developed. An amount of 28 mL of 6 U/mL cholinesterase solution was sprayed onto a filter paper sheet (210 mm × 297 mm) with speed of 1.5 mL/s.

Malaria diagnostic tests, including a rapid diagnostic test (RDT) and thick and thin blood smears, were given to eligible women and children in the 2010 RDHS. For the RDT for malaria, a drop of blood was obtained by a prick at the end of the finger usually at the same time of anemia testing. The test was done using First Response test kits and according to manufacturer recommendations. The results of the malaria RDT were recorded in the Household Questionnaire, which allows them to be linked with the characteristics of the respondents. Results from the RDTs were used to diagnose...
