The mixed ligand coordination compounds containing acesulfamato and N,N-diethylnicotinamide biomolecules of some rare earth metal cations (Eu3+, Tb3+, Ho3+, Er3+ and Yb3+) were synthesized, and their structural properties were investigated. Possible structural formulas have been proposed by determining the chemical composition of molecules (elemental analysis), binding properties (infrared spectroscopy, mass analysis, solid-state UV-vis spectroscopy), thermal degradation properties (TGA / DTA curves).

The synthesis, structure, and luminescent properties of a samarium(III) complex (A2) containing benzoyltrifluoroacetone (HTFPB) and 1,2-bis[(anthracen-9-ylmethyl)amino]ethane (BAAE2) ligands are herein reported. The structure of A2 has been elucidated by infrared spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystallographic analysis demonstrated that A2 has a mononuclear structure with a formula of Sm(TFPB)3 (BAAE2) in which Sm3+ ion is coordinated to six O-atoms from three TFPB ligands and two N-atoms from one ancillary ligand (BAAE2).

A new luminescent probe based on β- diketonate Eu3+ complex, Eu (TFPB)3AnPy, where AnPy is (1-(anthracen-9-yl)-N-(pyridine-2-ylmethyl) methaneamine and TFPB is benzoyltriluoro acetone was successfully synthesized. The molecular structure of Eu (TFPB)3AnPy determined by SC-XRD show an eight coordination in which Eu3+ is bonded to six oxygen atoms of three TFPB and two nitrogen atoms of the AnPy ligand. The complex could act as a highly sensitive luminescent probe for 1O2 that can be applied in biological systems.

Al-rich spinels were rarely reported compared to Cr-spinels, which were mostly observed in ophiolitic rocks. Pleonaste [(Mg, Fe2+)Al2 O4 ], which is an Al-rich spinel, was observed in the ophiolitic mafic–ultramafic rocks tectonically located in the Early Cretaceous accretionary complex, at the eastern part of the Armutlu peninsula, NW Turkey.

The complexes Ln(Leu)3ImCl3.3H2O (Ln: Eu, Yb; Leu: L-leucine; Im: imidazole) have been synthesized and characterized by the elemental analysis method , IR spectra and thermal analysis. IR spectra indicated that the rare earth ions are coodinated by both the oxygen atom from the COOgroup and the nitrogen atom from the NH2 group from L-leucine and coodinated with the 3-nitrogen atom for imidazole. The complexes of some rare earths with DL-2-amino-n-butyric acid were synthesized. The solid complexes have the general formula [Ln(Hbu)4]Cl3 [Ln: Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd and Hbu: CH3CH2CHNH2COOH]. The structure of the complexes have been recognised by the basic of elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectra and thermal analysis methods. It was found that the DL-2-amino-n-buryic acid utilized amino nitrogen and carboxyl oxygen for bonding.
