  • A study was carried out to evaluate the antibiotic sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from different raw milk samples. Isolation and identification of S. aureus were done from 5 types of dairies raw milk samples. A total of 125 milk samples from dairies were cultured for incidence of S. aureus. S. aureus was isolated from a total of 4 (3.2%) of the 125 milk samples.

  • The study focused on the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus and resistant strains in goat milk samples. In this study, 100 individual goat raw milk samples were collected. A total of 39 (39%) isolates were recovered. Strains identified as Staphylococcus aureus were further analysed by the polymerase chain reaction method for detection of the mecA gene.

  • The milk samples (Raw and Boiled) were collected from various vendors of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana district. Three different samples of Pasteurized milk samples were taken from the market. These samples were evaluated for their quality by determining Standard Plate Count (SPC) and Coliform count. The bacterial colonies ranged from 0.7×104 cfu/ml to 6×106 cfu/ml in boiled milk. Methylene Blue reduction test (MBRT) had also been performed to check microbial quality of the samples and Sample 1 (both raw and boiled) was reported to be poor.

  • This paper investigates the activity of alkaline phosphatase and shelf life of raw milk processed under hurdle technology (HT). In this study the hurdles given to process raw milk are pulsed electric field and mild heat. The raw milk was preheated to 40°C and 50°C and then it was subjected to different voltage gradients viz.,10KV/cm, 20KV/cm and 30KV/cm at two different treatment time (3 and 6 minutes). The processed samples were collected in sterile glass bottles.

  • The present study was designed to see quality of raw buffalo milk in four districts of Chhattisgarh and the effect of different location, stage of lactation and parity on milk components of buffaloes. Total 112 milk samples were collected, comprised of four different districts and from lactation stage (early, mid and late) and from varying parity of (1, 2, 3 and 4 above) for the study. Overall milk fat, solid not fat (SNF), protein, lactose, density, freezing point and ash were observed to be 6.50±0.05, 8.88±0.03, 3.71±0.03, 4.90±0.06,1.030±0.002, -0.534±0.002and 0.81±0.004%, respectively.

  • The present investigation was conducted to assess the presence of adulterants and contaminants in market milk and raw milk around Varanasi city from branded, organized dairy farms and traditional vendors. The trial work has been approved out during the period of 1 February 2019 to 20 May 2019. Four milk samples were collected from each branded, organized dairy farm and traditional vendors milk centers 250- and 500-ml. quantity was collected and decontaminated throwaway plastic bottles with screw cap and each bottle was coded.

Unfortunately, the conditions of milking, transport, packaging and marketing of milk in Daloa (Côte d'Ivoire) jeopardize its microbiological quality.   • Staphylococcus aureus is one of the important human pathogens involved in food related diseases and common community associated infections. This organism proliferates in food and causes food-borne illnesses. Milk serves as an ideal medium for growth of many microorganisms including Staphylococcus aureus. A total of 118 raw cattle milk samples were collected under aseptic precautions from different places of Navsari district of south Gujarat, processed under standard bacteriological techniques. The Baird Parker Agar was sued as selective medium for isolation.

  • The present study was envisaged with the aim to isolate and identify Bacillus cereus from milk and milk products. A total of 160 samples which comprise of raw pooled market milk (n=20), pasteurized milk (n=20), dahi (n=20), paneer (n=20), khoa (n=20), milk powder (n=20), ice cream (n=20) and butter (n=20) were collected and processed in the laboratory. Out of the 160 samples screened, Bacillus cereus could be isolated from 44 samples of different milk and milk products employing culture and biochemical assays.

  • The objective of the current study was to identify the effect of reusing the alkali solution on thermoduric count in pasteurized milk. The study was carried out in a commercial Dairy Plant, where reusing of alkali solution is not practiced. In the present study, 28 samples each were collected from raw milk, pasteurized milk, and alkali solution before and after its use. Equivalent numbers of samples from surface swab of storage tank were also collected after cleaning procedure.

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the status of ESBL producing Enterobacteriaceae in foods of animal origin and their environment. A total of 125 samples were collected comprising 95 animal products (40 raw milk, 25 milk products, 15 raw meat and 15 meat products) and 30 environmental samples. The isolation rate was recorded 93.95% in food samples with Citrobacter (38.41%) being the dominant flora, while100% in environmental samples with the dominance of E. coli (89.18%). The aim of the study was to isolate E. coli from unpasteurised raw milk and milk products (Madara, Kindrimo, Nono and Manshanu) during the rainy and dry seasons in Abuja in order to ascertain the hygienic status of the dairy products.   • Present study was undertaken to assess the hygiene quality of the meat, milk and also its prevalence on human population. A total of 330 samples including, chicken meat (n=98), Chevon (n=82), raw milk samples (n=90) and human urine (n=56) and stool samples (n=4) Samples were aseptically collected from different districts of Chhattisgarh.
