The present study was carried out to analyze the cost economics of onion (Arka Niketan variety) cultivation with mulching (plastic mulch, paddy straw mulch and control) and fertigation (50, 75 and 100% of recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF)) in Vertisol in North Eastern Dry Zone of Karnataka.

A long term field experiment was conducted since kharif 2015 for evaluating the effect of inorganic and organic sources of nutrients on soil physical properties and productivity on direct seeded rice ( Oryza satia L.) – MTU1010 under rainfed midland situation at Bastar plateau zone at S. G. College of Agriculture and Research Station, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. Random block design was used with twelve treatments and four replications to carry out experiment. The full recommended dose of fertilizer for rice crop was 100kg ha-1 Nitrogen, 60 kg ha-1 phosphorus and 40 kg ha-1.

Enhancement in phosphorus (P) efficiency of crop plants require a better understanding of alterations in root architecture phenes and physio-biochemical processes under phosphorus deprived condition. The experiment was done during kharif season 2016 at farmer field in Bhadohi district near Varanasi to ascertain the validity of developed fertilizer adjustment equations based on Soil Test Crop Response for targeted yield of this crop. These equations were compared with other fertilizer use practices such as farmer’s practice and general recommendation. Fertilizer doses for different crop under STCR based fertilizers application treatment were calculated using fertilizer adjustment equations for targeted yield of different crops. A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of drip irrigation, fertigation and mulching on coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) var. VHC 3. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with seven treatments and three replications. The treatments comprised of 100% (T1), 80% (T2) and 60% (T3) recommended dose of fertilizer with 100 micron thickness plastic mulch and 100% (T4), 80% (T5) and 60% (T6) recommended dose of fertilizer without plastic mulch. The control was with conventional method of irrigation (basin irrigation) without mulch (T7).

Rapeseed is one of the most important oilseeds crop in Assam, which plays a major role in enhancement the income of marginal and small farmers of Darrang district. One of the major constraints of low productivity of rapeseed farming is using of local varieties. However, delayed sowing & use of higher seed rate resulting into dense plant population, uneven plant population, uncontrolled weeds, ignorance about recommended doses of fertilizers and lack of plant protection measures were the predominant identified causes of low productivity of oilseeds in the district.
