  • The study, done on the incidence of insect pest, revealed the presence of seven species of insect pests and three species of predator during the period of study from 16 September 2016 to 15 April 2017 at various stages of the brinjal crop after transplanting in district Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The presence of whitefly, aphid, jassid and hadda beetle were recorded from the vegetative to maturity stage of the crop, while brinjal shoot and fruit borer as the most dominating species of the pest at vegetative as well as flowering and fruiting stage of the crop.

  • In the present studies three insect pests viz., blue bug, Chrysocoris purpureus (Westw), leaf webber cum fruit borer, Pempelia morosalis (Saalm Uller) and broad mites, Euseius sp were recorded as major pests. Along with this spider, Oxyopes lineatipes was recorded as predator.   • A study on eco friendly management of Rice bug, Leptocorisa acutaunder upland rice by using organic pesticide was taken inOnattukara Regional Agricultural Research Station, Kayamkulam. Randomized block design with seven treatments and three replications were chosen which include 3 botanicals (1% azadirachtin 0.003%, cashew nut shell liquid 0.1% and dasagavya 3%), one microbial agent (chitin based Pseudomonas 2.5 kg ha-1 ), one animal origin pesticide (fish jaggery extract 0.6%) and one check insecticide (Malathion 50 EC 0.1%) and untreated control plot.
