  • Wi-Fi Fingerprinting based Indoor Positioning System (IPS) aims to help locate and navigate users inside buildings. It has become a popular research topic in recent years with two goals of removing redundant data and increasing positioning accuracy and it has produced acceptable results. In this paper, we propose a feature reduction method and apply a machine learning model that combines two-phases.

  • Large sequence datasets are difficult to visualize and handle. Additionally, they often do not represent a random subset of the natural diversity, but the result of uncoordinated and convenience sampling. Consequently, they can suffer from redundancy and sampling biases.

  • Recent developments in third-gen long read sequencing and diploid-aware assemblers have resulted in the rapid release of numerous reference-quality assemblies for diploid genomes. However, assembly of highly heterozygous genomes is still problematic when regional heterogeneity is so high that haplotype homology is not recognised during assembly.

  • Software testing is a major component of software development lifecycle and it’s time consuming. the testing used the particular time in testing is generally disturbed with generating the test cases and correctly testing them. although some people apply k means clustering algorithm to the test suite reduction, the algorithm is unstable and seldom considers the coverage rate of such test cases.

  • It is a tacit assumption of m u c h linguistic inquiry that all distinct derivations of a string should assign distinct meanings. But despite the tidiness of such derivational uniqueness, there seems to be no a priori reason to assume that a g r a m m a r must have this property. If a grammar exhibits derivational equivalence, whereby distinct derivations of a string assign the same meanings, naive exhaustive search for all derivations will be redundant, and quite possibly intractable. In this paper we show how notions of derivation-reduction and normal form can be used to...

  • This work is concerned with the space of alignments searched by word alignment systems. We focus on situations where word re-ordering is limited by syntax. We present two new alignment spaces that limit an ITG according to a given dependency parse. We provide D-ITG grammars to search these spaces completely and without redundancy. We conduct a careful comparison of five alignment spaces, and show that limiting search with an ITG reduces error rate by 10%, while a D-ITG produces a 31% reduction. ...

  • A key goal of this research project was to assess the scope of coverage in shared print and shared digital repositories, with a view to understanding how the combined resources might enable a local reduction in redundant print inventory. For this reason, it was important to understand how much of the print storage collection in ReCAP is duplicated—or is likely to be duplicated—in the HathiTrust Digital Library. As of this writing, the shared ReCAP facility holds more than 8 million items contributed by the three partner libraries.
