This study investigates the effect of synthesis methods on the physicochemical properties and catalytic activity of α-MnO2 catalysts in the complete oxidation of isopropanol. The catalysts were synthesized via redox-precipitation reactions by using dropwise and reflux methods and characterized by XRD, SEM, and N2 adsorption-desorption.

In this paper, synthesis of tetrakis(carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) coated cadmium ferrite (CdFe 2 O4) nanoparticles by using L-lysine as an anchor is reported for the first time. The ferrimagnetic CdFe 2 O4 nanoparticles were prepared via the facile self-assembly method of reflux followed by a heating treatment. The obtained magnetic nanoparticles were coated with TCPP in the presence of the amino acid L-lysine by sonication in ethanol and then refluxing for 12 h. The structural characteristics of the products were determined using FT-IR and XRD pattern.

The reflux method was utilized for the synthesis of 5% Sn-doped TiO2 nanopowder. Surfaces of the TiO2 particles were modified with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (glymo) and glass surfaces were coated with this solution by a spin-coating process. Molar ratios of TiO2:glymo were 0.25, 0.5, 2.5, and 7.5 in the films. Nanocomposite films were cured at 130 ◦ C. Adhesions of the obtained films were classified as 5B and pencil hardness increased with the increase in the ratio of the TiO2 in the films. Film thickness decreased from 5 µm to 0.3 µm when TiO2:glymo was increased from 0.25 to 7.5.

The removal of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide from as-synthesized MCM-41 in different methods has been investigated. The removal of template from MCM-41 precursors was conducted by reflux, Soxhlet extraction and magnetic stirring extraction at ambient room temperature in ethanol and ethanol-containing hydrochloride solvents. The obtained materials were characterized by TG-DSC, XRD, SEM, TEM and isotherm of adsorption/desorption of nitrogen.

Each test was conducted using 3 replications. It was necessary to conduct additional experimentation when analyzing for alcohol-toluene extractive content and holocellulose content. The alcohol-toluene test is the starting material for many of the other experiments. Both the lignin and holocellulose content test are performed with extractive-free bamboo that is derived from the alcohol-toluene extractive test. Additionally, holocellulose is a necessary preparatory stage in order to determine the alpha-cellulose content.

The survey was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the survey covered the basic population information and community environment of the sample units, whereas the second involved the knowledge, attitude and practices of women of childbearing age in regards to childbirth, contraception and repro- ductive health, their demands for family planning and services related to daily life and production. In the first phase of the survey, a probability proportional sampling method was adopted to sort out 1041 sample units in 337 counties/ cities/districts across the country.
