Pediatric kidney transplants has been increasing in recent years, as the procedure provides long-lasting and favorable outcomes; however many complications can occur in post-transplant period. The early perioperative care plays a significant role in reducing complications and improving the quality of treatment. Objectives: To describe the clinical, laboratory, and early complications in perioperative period post kidney transplant surgery.

Histiocytic sarcoma (HS) is defined as neoplasm resembling morphological and immunophenotypic characteristics of mature histiocytes. It is a rare form of lymphoid neoplasms. Despite advances in treatment and diagnosis of histiocytic sarcoma, majority of cases had poor prognosis due to progressive nature of the disease.

Post-transplantation anemia is common among renal transplant recipients (RTR). The most frequent causes are erythropoietin deficiency, acute allograft rejection, iron deficiency, hemolytic anemia, adverse effects of immunosuppressive therapy, and virus infection. Human parvovirus B19 (HPV B19) can cause persistent viremia and erythropoietin-resistant erythroid aplasia in immunosuppressed patients.

Post-renal transplant diarrhea is a common clinical presentation. An extensive list of potential etiology adds to the diagnostic dilemma. In cases of prolonged or intractable diarrhea, invasive tests are often performed. Intestinal microsporidia can be diagnosed with simple non-invasive stool polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Chronic kidney disease has an estimated prevalence of 10% in Australia and is predicted to rise in the coming years. Secondary hyperparathyroidism resulting from chronic kidney disease is an important cause of morbidity in these patients; and screening for secondary hyperparathyroidism is recommended in international guidelines.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an aggressive hematological neoplasm typically more common in children than adults. More prolonged remissions and a potential cure can be achieved if allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is performed. Outcomes after allo-HSCT vary significantly among patients, and multiple factors contribute to these outcomes.

We report large biofilm structures that covered almost the entirety of the lumen and surface of doubleJ stents in two postrenal transplant patients, with no development of urinary tract infection. Biofilm bacteria of one patient were integrated by coccus in a net structure, whereas overlapping cells of bacilli were present in the other patient.

Kidney transplantation (KT) is the most obvious method of treating a patient with end-stage renal disease. In the early stages of KT, urine production is considered a marker of successful reperfusion of the kidney after anastomosis. However, there is no clear conclusion about the relationship between initial urine output after KT and 1-year renal function. Thus, we investigated the factors that affect 1-year kidney function after KT, including urine output.
