The Middle Miocene carbonate is the main gas bearing reservoir in the southern part ofthe Song Hong basin. Carbonate reservoirs present challenges for engineers and geologists to characterize because of their complexity due to depositional and diagenetic processes.

Understanding the permeability-porosity relationships is the key to improving reservoir prediction and exploitation especially in carbonate reservoirs, which are known for their complex textural and diagenetic variation. Rock type classifications have long been proven to be an effective technique for establishingpermeability-porosity relationships, enhance the capability to capture the various reservoir flow behavior and prediction for uncored reservoir zones.

This paper summarizes results from previous studies showing the application of magnetic susceptibility measurements for characterizing different reservoir properties. Studies on the magnetic susceptibility of crude oils from different oil field regions around the world have shown good correlations of the susceptibility values with crude oil densities as well as other physical and chemical properties.

Poultry consumption in Côte d'Ivoire is booming, however it is the main reservoir of antibiotic resistant strains of Salmonella. The objective of this work is to assess the level of resistance to Salmonella antibiotics isolated from chickens. Salmonella strains (104) isolated from 51 batches of raw chicken gedisers were subjected to phenotypic and molecular characterization.

ND is one of the most devastating diseases of the poultry industry. The disease was categorized as ‗notifiable‘ owing to the immense economic losses caused to the poultry farmers. Wide host range is one major limiting factor in controlling the disease. While chicken, turkeys, doves, pigeons are highly susceptible, waterfowls such as ducks and geese are less susceptible and considered as natural reservoirs for lentogenic AAvV-1.

Over the years, agriculture across the world has been compromised by a succession of devastating epidemics caused by evolving viruses that spilled over from reservoir species or by new variants of classic viruses that acquired new virulence factors or changed their epidemiological patterns. Population genetics can be used as a powerful tool for identification of disease dynamics over population across large-scale geographic regions. Knowledge of life-history and origin of pathogen can greatly benefit from emergence and expansion of spatial genetics.

Exploration and characterization of germplasm resource is important for documentation of species. The present study reports new distribution record of Indian hill trout, Barilius bendelisis (Hamilton 1807) from Kangsabati Reservoir, West Bengal, India. Based on the past records and literature this is the first report of Barilius bendelisis a member of Cyprinidae family from the Kangsabati Reservoir, under Damodar basin, Ganga River system in West Bengal.

Water reservoirs are always characterized for drinking water quality. However, in catchments where arable fields dominate, the impact of agriculture on water pollution is still problematic. In Ladakh, recently the fertilization level has decreased drastically due to detrimental impact on soil conditions, mostly for economic reasons as well as lastly getting more awareness on benefits of organic farming towards maintaining indigenous traditional knowledge/ methodologies.

Brucellosis still remains an infectious, highly contagious and re-emerging endemic zoonosis especially in the Mediterranean and Middle-East regions of the world involving many countries including India where it constitutes occupational hazard (Shakerian et al., 2013 and Khamesipour et al., 2014). It also poses a serious threat to livestock economy by causing abortion, loss of offspring, infertility and reduction in milk yield.

Searching for hydrocarbon reserves in deep subsurface is the main concern of wide community of geophysicists and geoscientists in petroleum industry. Exploration seismology has substantially contributed to finding and developing giant fields worldwide. The technology has evolved from two to three-dimensional method, and later added a fourth dimension for reservoir monitoring.

Microcystis is a bloom-forming, common cyanobacterium in Dau Tieng reservoir used for public water supply. To assess the presence of potentially microcystin-producing Microcystis, molecular techniques were conducted and acute toxicity bioassays were performed with the microcrustacean Daphnia magna exposed to cyanobacterial crude extracts. Potentially toxigenic of isolated strains was characterized by amplifying mcyD genes and identification of Microcystis was confirmed by 16S rRNA amplification.

Medicinal plants constitute a natural reservoir for medicines worldwide. They serve mainstream therapeutics and are central in folklore medicine. In case of Euphorbia tirucalli belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family and is a very popular herb in traditional herbal medicine. Despite the traditional use of this plant, no scientific report or information was found in the literature regarding neither its biological activity nor its chemical constituents in Vietnam.

Poneratoxin is a small neuropeptide found in the venom of the antParaponera clavata. It is stored in the venom reservoir as an inactive 25-residue peptide. Here we des-cribe both chemically synthesized poneratoxin and pon-eratoxin obtained by expression in insect cells. When expressed in insect cells, poneratoxin was observed attached to cell membranes. Both synthetic and recom-binant ponerotoxins were soluble below pH 4.5. The structure of synthetic poneratoxin was characterized by circular dichroism and solved by nuclear magnetic reso-nance. ...
