Tackling multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli requires evidence from One Health studies that capture numerous potential reservoirs in circumscribed geographic areas. Methods: We conducted a survey of extended β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing E. coli isolated from patients, canals and livestock wastewater in eastern Thailand between 2014 and 2015, and analyzed isolates using whole genome sequencing.

Antibiotic resistance has been determined as a global threat. Inappropriate use of antibiotics is a crucial driver of the evolution of resistance. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted aiming to describe the antibiotic usage among the elderly (60 years old and above) in Tan Loi commune, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province, Vietnam in 2020. The questionnaire survey was submitted to 370 participants.

Genomic mutations caused by cytotoxic agents used in cancer chemotherapy may cause secondary malignancies as well as contribute to the evolution of treatment-resistant tumour cells. The stable diploid genome of the chicken DT40 lymphoblast cell line, an established DNA repair model system, is well suited to accurately assay genomic mutations.

Resistance genes composing the two-layer immune system of plants are thought as important markers for breeding pathogen-resistant crops. Many have been the attempts to establish relationships between the genomic content of Resistance Gene Analogs (RGAs) of modern sugarcane cultivars to its degrees of resistance to diseases such as smut.

Integrons are genomic elements that mediate horizontal gene transfer by inserting and removing genetic material using site-specific recombination. Integrons are commonly found in bacterial genomes, where they maintain a large and diverse set of genes that plays an important role in adaptation and evolution.

Leptospirosis is an acute, bacterial, anthropozoonotic disease. Some occupations are highrisk group occupations for Leptospirosis e.g. field veterinarian, animal handler, dairy workers, slaughterhouse workers, rice field workers, sugar-cane field workers, sewage workers, and laboratory personnel. Poultry is known to be resistant to Leptospira spp. infection but the feed stuff available at poultry farms which are mostly located in the field attracts wild rodents. So it is important to study the prevalence of Leptospira spp.

Indiscriminate use of antimicrobial drugs posses a great threat to human population. Their residues in milk over a long time may produce a variety of manifestations like individual drug toxicities including drug allergies, carcinogenicity and most importantly microbial resistance to these drugs. Keeping in view of the above facts, monitoring of residues of enrofloxacin and its metabolites were done in North Bihar region. With the objectives to estimate the residues of these antibiotics in milk samples, sample survey was done in organized as well as unorganized dairy sectors.

Carbapenamse Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) have disseminated widely since being first reported in 2001. CRE often carry genes that confer high levels of resistance to many other antimicrobials. So they are usually resistant to all β-lactam agents as well as most other classes of antimicrobial agents.

Powdery mildew caused by Oidium neolycopersici L. Kiss is one of the most important diseases of tomato under polyhouse conditions. During 2014-15, polyhouses of Kangra district (H.P., India) were surveyed and the disease severity was observed between 5.0 to 89.5 per cent affecting both quality and quantity of the harvest. Fourteen hybrids/cultivars of tomato were screened under p house conditions during 2014-15 cropping season, but all were found either susceptible or weakly resistant against powdery mildew.

Field surveys were conducted for collection of CMV virus isolates in bell pepper depicting a wide range of symptoms ranging from mosaic, mottling, yellow discoloration, vein clearing, leaf deformation, shoe stringing or leaf narrowing, stunted growth to reduced fruit size. In an attempt to correlate the symptoms with virus concentration in different isolates, DAS-ELISA was performed on symptomatic plants and CMV was detected in majority of the isolates. It was observed that the plants with shoe stringing (typical symptom of CMV in bell pepper) had the highest O.D.
