  • This research analyzes the factors that affect resilience after natural disasters of 997 households in rural areas of Vietnam in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016 by using logistic regression. The research results show that factors such as receiving timely warnings related to natural disasters, not taking measures to respond to natural disasters, and putting trust in the community will improve resilience after natural disasters.

  • The present study was aimed at people of Changthang, known as Changpa, who are nomadic shepherds. The Changpa nomads lived in rebo (tents) made from yak wool. The data reveal that all changpa nomads used bukhari for their heating purpose. They used wood and cow dung cake as fuel in bukhari and majority 82.86% of both women and children go to primary health centre because PHC also keeps moving with their camps so they prefer to go to PHC, only 5.57% of respondents went to district hospital when they are seriously sick.

  • Wild pomegranate is one of the important cash crop tree species of the mid-hill zone of western Himalayan region. A multistage random sampling technique was used for the selection of the respondents. The analysis was based on data based on survey of 50 farm households. Highest efficiency of channel-A was observed (271.73) but the volume transacted was very less (5 %) and high quality produce was traded through this channel.

  • Recently, plastic bag rubbish has become a problem of concern for researchers in both environmental and economic issues. Results of a survey of 401 households in Caàn Thô city show that most of the respondents use plastic bags for shopping and containing rubbish. However, about 55% of them are aware of the harm that plastic bags cause for the environment and life. People living in distant and remote areas are much less aware of this sort of harm. Moreover, the burning of rubbish still occurs in the countryside due to the absence of garbage collection.

  • The study was conducted during 2015-16 in Bundi district of Rajasthan to assess the reproductive performance of buffaloes. A multi-stage sampling design was used to select the 180 sample households. The selected respondent farmers were interviewed personally using a well structured and pre-tested interview schedule. The results of the study indicate poor reproductive performance of buffaloes. Further, anestrous and repeat breeding were the most prevalent reproductive disorders in buffaloes in the study area.

  • The combustion of biomass and coal significantly contributes to the total health burden due to the emission of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. To determine the personal exposure related to beehive coal stove cooking in Hanoi, an assessment study on 120 females in three wards (Tran Hung Dao, Phuc Tan, and Chuong Duong) of Ha Noi city, Viet Nam was conducted. Personal and ambient concentrations of PM2.5 and CO (upwind, nearsource, far-source) were simultaneously measured twice a day at each household by PATS++ equipment developed by Berkeley Air Monitoring group.

  • India is an agrarian economy, where women comprise a large part of the total workforce. The agriculture sector employs 80% of all active women in India, women comprise 33% of the agricultural labour force (Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, 2018). A nation with such a large workforce is still deprived of food security, which makes it a matter of utmost concern. A study was conducted in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh to analyze the food security status among farm women. The study reveals that 78% of the sample population belongs to the food insecure category.

  • The present study was conducted in four districts of Haryana state. Total 300 household from different landholding categories were selected from four villages of the selected districts. The findings of the study revealed that majorities of landless male as well as females were working as casual labour either in agriculture or in non-agriculture. Maximum time devoted by these respondents was as casual labour in non-agriculture (244 man days) followed by self-employed in non- agricultural (180 man days).

  • The aim of the present study is to determine knowledge and procurement behavior pertaining to food safety among urban households of Ludhiana district, Punjab. Results revealed that age group from 45 years and above, mostly males, with nuclear families, belonging to business class, mainly postgraduates and having family income from Rs 5 to10 lakhs were found to have good food safety knowledge scores. Results revealed that female respondents had better procurement practices pertaining to food safety as compared to male respondents.

A study was planned to know the decision making behaviour and its influence on the socio economic performance of farm households. The respondents were chosen from three districts viz. Raichur, Gulbarga and Koppal. Thirty farmers from rainfed situation and thirty farmers from irrigated situation were chosen from each district making a total sample size of 180.

  • Pig farming is dispensable to the tribal folks of Manipur, India. In this study, we tried to establish baseline information on the socio-personal and socio-economical status of small scale tribal pig farmers in the state. Altogether, 400 tribal pig farmers, rearing ≥ 2 pigs were selected randomly and interviewed from 4 blocks of Senapati district, Manipur. The study showed that majority of tribal pig farmers (69.75%) belonged to middle age groups (31-50 years), followed by 19.25% young age groups (up to 30 years), and 11% old age groups (> 50 years), respectively.
