The major nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potash play an important role in nutrition of garlic plants in relation to growth, yield and quality of bulb. The organic manure is an ecofriendly, economically viable and ecologically sound that also played a significant role in soil biology, chemistry and physics.

Nitrogen plays a pivotal role in fruit tree performance. It is a major constituent of plant cell and plays an important part in the plant metabolism. Considering the marked effect of nitrogen, its application in fruit trees has been investigated by several researches in India as well as in world. Previously, the studies remained confined to fruit yield and tree growth.

Phosphorus (P) deficiency is one of the major nutrient stresses limiting plant growth. The uptake of P by plants is well considered to be mediated by a number of high-affinity phosphate (Pi) transporters belonging to the Pht1 family.

It is well known that salinization (high-pH) has been considered as a major environmental threat to agricultural systems. The aim of this study was to investigate the differences between salt stress and alkali stress in metabolic profiles and nutrient accumulation of wheat; these parameters were also evaluated to determine the physiological adaptive mechanisms by which wheat tolerates alkali stress.

Deficiency of micronutrients in soil particularly, that of Fe is a major nutritional and production constraint worldwide. We hypothesize a role of sulphur nutrition in altering the Fe deficiency tolerance response of crop plants. Present investigation was conducted to elucidate the role of S in regulating uptake and in-plant partitioning of Fe in bread and durum wheat through a field and a nutrient solution culture experiment.

Long term exhaustive cropping practice and indiscriminate use of poor quality water can result in accumulation of salts and sodium that adversely affect crop growth. Salinity and sodicity are the major soil degradation issues primarily in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. The sustainability of agriculture is a matter of deep concern due to widespread removal of nutrients in excess of their application resulting in depletion of major soil nutrient reserves. Nitrogen (N) use efficiency of applied N in saline and sodic soils is low.

Field experiment pertaining to response of chickpea to application of Humic Acid (HA) along with vermicompost was carried out at Organic Farming Research Institute, UAS, Raichur during 2018-19. The HA was extracted from pressmud and tested on chickpea crop through soil application and foliar spray. This field experiment was laid out in RCBD with 11 treatments comprising of 75 per cent and 100 per cent recommended dose of N and P through vermicompost ( VC) and rock phosphate (RP) along with soil application and foliar spray of humic acid. The treatments were replicated thrice.

Currently sugarcane crop yields are low and its area under cultivation is declining due to its high cost of cultivation and continuous reduction in announcing less remunerative prices to the farmers by the policy makers. Of late the area under this crop is continuously declining in Telangana state of India. In order to facilitate the farmers to get lucrative prices and to increase area under this crop, sugarcane yields have to be enhanced more than 250 t/ha.
