Arundinaria sp. is a valuable non-timber forest product, capable of improving the economic life of local people based on export demand to countries such as Japan, Taiwan, and Europe. The need for materials in the area for processing Arundinaria sp. culm to export is quite high in recent year. Therefore, develop Arundinaria sp. plantation becomes a key solution to supply sustainable raw material for Arundinaria sp. culm processing and producing seedling is the first and an important method that need to be well prepared.

In post-harvest operation of spices, grinding is important step. Turmeric rhizomes are generally long size and very hard to grind. In a small grinder, it is not possible to ground whole turmeric rhizome into powder. Cutting of turmeric then generally done manually. In some of the large grinder, the whole turmeric rhizomes fed into the grinder causes heat generation during grinding.

This report deals with the successful clonal propagation of endangered T. turcica using rhizome cuttings and epicotyl explants. Rhizome cuttings were treated with α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) or indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) before planting for vegetative multiplication.
