Research and production of clean, high-quality and high-yield rice, sustainable environmental protection are the most important and important tasks of many countries in the world as well as in Vietnam today. Therefore, the research, selection and creation of rice varieties that are both high-yield and resistant to pests, weeds, and climate change, in order to minimize the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Prime editing is a novel and universal CRISPR/Cas-derived precision genome-editing technology that has been recently developed. However, low efficiency of prime editing has been shown in transgenic rice lines. We hypothesize that enhancing pegRNA expression could improve prime-editing efficiency.

A field experiment was carried out at Department of Agronomy, Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Trichy during Rabi, 2018 to study the effect of different weed management practices on nutrient removal, nutrient uptake andgrain yield of transplanted rice. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with four main plot and five sub plot treatments and replicated thrice. The experimental plot size was 20 m 2 . Main plot treatments were pre plant application of herbicides namely, glyphosate 2.5 kg ha-1 , glufosinate ammonium 1.0 kg ha-1 ,halosulfuron methyl 67.

Rice is an important food crop extensively grown in India. Several factors are responsible for reducing the yield of transplant rice. However, weed infestation is the major threat to productivity of transplanted rice. Normally the loss in yield ranges between 16-20%, yet in severe cases the yield losses can be more than 50%, depending upon the species and intensity of weeds.

A Field experiments were carried out from 2009-10 and 2010-11 to evaluate the efficiency of herbicides under different rice residue management practices in wheat. The herbicide treatments included application of sulfosulfuron alone and tank mix Sulfosulfuron 25 g/ha + metsulfuron 4 g/ha and isoproturon 1.0 kg/ha + metsulfuron 4 g/ha. Residue mulching reduced weed density, resulting in improvement of growth and yield attributing characters of wheat followed by residue incorporated and residue retained treatments.

Rice is an important food crop extensively grown in India. Several factors are responsible for reducing the rice productivity in worldwide. However, weed infestation is the major biotic threat to productivity of transplanted rice. Weeds are competed with rice by their high adaptability and faster growth, dominate the crop habitat and reduce the yield potential of rice. Weed management is an important agro-technique for successful transplanted rice cultivation. It can be achieved, either manual or mechanical or chemical weed control methods.

Rotation of rice-wheat cropping system is most popular in India due to its high productivity; however, these crops are highly infested by the varied weeds, thus farmers use various herbicides for their control. Resulting, this rotation consumes a large quantity of herbicides, which has resulted in severe problems like environmental and human health hazards; development of herbicide resistance in weeds etc.
