Bài viết trình bày đánh giá sự thay đổi của chỉ số tương hợp thất phải động mạch phổi (Right ventricular - pulmonary artery coupling - RVPAc) bằng siêu âm tim trước và sau phẫu thuật ở bệnh nhân hở van hai lá thực thể. Đối tượng và phương pháp: Nghiên cứu hồi cứu kết hợp tiến cứu mô tả cắt ngang trên 33 bệnh nhân hở van hai lá thực thể được phẫu thuật (sửa van hoặc thay van) tại Bệnh viện Trung ương Quân đội 108 từ tháng 1/2022 đến tháng 12/2023.

To investigate right ventricular function in hemodialysis patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) using twodimensional speckle tracking echocardiography. Methods: Patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) who were on regular hemodialysis and had preserved LVEF and a group of age- and sex-matched control subjects were recruited for the study in Bach Mai Hospital.

Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is the most common variant of systemic venous drainage. In the absence of the right superior vena cava (RSVC), implantation of a right ventricular pacing lead may be challenging. Therefore specific implantation techniques and experiences in PLSVC are worth reporting.

To present a rare case with thrombus resolved with dual antiplatelet in combination with acenocoumarol. Case presentation: A 35-year-old man with a history of cerebral venous thrombosis was admitted to our hospital for an acute myocardial inferior infarction. He underwent primary percutaneous intervention of the right coronary artery with proximal to distal stent placement.

A 100-year-old female patient was admitted for a pericardial effusion with unknown etiology. Pericardiocentesis was performed and the pigtail drainage catheter was noted to be in the right ventricle and not pericardial space.

To determine pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) by echocardiography - Doppler; and evaluate the correlation between pulmonary vascular resistance and some variables such as left ventricular EF, PASP, TAPSE, and tissue S-wave of the tricuspid valve in patients with ischemic heart disease.

An early diastolic flow from the left ventricular apex to the base can be shown in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This tiny flow or a diastolic paradoxic jet flow is important to detect on echocardiography because of its association with cardiovascular adverse events.

Acute aortic dissection is a catastrophic event with high mortality rate if left untreated. We present a case of Stanford type A aortic dissection with an uncommon complication of right ventricular failure, which resulted in a rare presentation of persistent hypoxemia despite intubation and maximal ventilatory support.

Left to right shunt in congenital heart disease is the common causes of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in children, and the pulmonary pressure sometime isn’t recovered to normal value after the shunts closed. Residual PH after correcting these shunts may cause deaths. The purpose of this study was to describe the rate of residual PH after surgical closure the left to right shunts in pediatric congenital heart disease and determine its risk factors.

We evaluated the feasibility and effectiveness of the right vertical sub-axillary incision used for the closure of ventricular septal defect. 100 patients (55 males and 45 females) who consecutively underwent surgical repair of their ventricular septal defect at our institution from January 2020 to November 2021 were retrospectively reviewed.

Techniques for zero-fluoroscopy mapping of right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) arrhythmias are increasingly implemented and usually use deflectable catheters such as steerable diagnostic catheter or ablation catheter via inferior vena cava.

Sepsis-induced cardiac dysfunction may limit fluid responsiveness and the mechanism thereof remains unclear. Since cardiac function may affect the relative value of cardiac filling pressures, such as the recommended central venous pressure (CVP), versus filling volumes in guiding fluid loading, we studied these parameters as determinants of fluid responsiveness, according to cardiac function.

Pulse pressure (PPV) and stroke volume (SVV) variations may not be reliable in the setting of pulmonary hypertension and/or right ventricular (RV) failure. We hypothesized that RV afterload increase attenuates SVV and PPV during hypovolemia in a rabbit model of pulmonary embolism (PE) secondary to RV dysfunction.

General anesthesia induction with the initiation of positive pressure ventilation creates a vulnerable phase for patients. The impact of positive intrathoracic pressure on cardiac performance has been studied but remains controversial. 3D echocardiography is a valid and MRI-validated bed-side tool to evaluate the right ventricle (RV).

Right Ventricular Dysfunction (RVD) is the most frequent intraoperative hemodynamic complication in Heart Transplantation (HTx). RVD occurs in 0.04–1.0% of cardiac surgeries with cardiotomy and in 20–50% of HTx, with mortality up to 75%. No consensus has been established for how anesthesiologists should manage RVD, with management methods many times remaining unvalidated.
