A pre-clinical sign of atherosclerisis is hypertrophy of arterial wall. Femoral intima-media thickness is noninvasive marker of arterial wall alteration, which can easily be assessed by high resolusion B mode ultrasound. Aims: To investigate the correlation between femoral intima-media thickness and the severity of coronary artery diseases.

Atherosclerosis is the most important cause of increasing coronary heart disease. When cholesterol LDL-C levels are low, an increase in Apo B is associated with 60% of the cardiovascular risk factors. This study find out the association between serum Apolipoprotein B levels with the degree of coronary artery lesions.

Coronary angiography is the gold standard for definitive diagnosis of obstructive ischemic coronary disease. However, this is an invasive, expensive test, and may have a number of complications. We aim to assess the sensitivity and specificity of different PTP stratification models follow ESC 2013 and 2019; and their use in the relation to SYNTAX score and cardiovascular risk factors.

At the end of the lecture, participants will know: the epidemiology of coronary artery disease, the risk factors associated with coronary artery disease, how to use online tools to estimate a patient's risk for myocardial infarction, how to screen for and couns a patient to reduce their risk for coronary artery disease.

Arsenic is a strong stimulus of heme oxygenase (HO)-1 expression in experimental studies in response to oxidative stress caused by a stimulus. A functional GT-repeat polymorphism in the HO-1 gene promoter was inversely correlated to the development of coronary artery disease in diabetics and development of restenosis following angioplasty in patients. The role of this potential vascular protective factor in carotid atherosclerosis remains unclear. We previously reported a graded association of arsenic...

The microsatellite polymorphism of heme oxygenase (HO)-1 gene promoter has been shown to be associated with the susceptibility to ischemic event, including coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction, and peripheral vascular disease. We aimed to examine whether the length of (GT)n repeats in HO-1 gene promoter is associated with ischemic stroke in people with CAD risk factors, especially low level of HDL. Methods: A total of 183 consecutive firstever ischemic stroke inpatients and
