Thraustochytrium is a heterotrophic marine microalgae genus belonging to the Labyrinthula class, Thraustochytriaceae (Thraustochytrids) family. Recently, studied results have showed that some species/strains of Thraustochytrium genus are potential candidates to produce biomass rich in lipid containing high polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFAs), especially docosahexaenoic (DHA C22: 6 ω-3), carotenoid, extracellular polysaccharides (EPSs) and enzymes which play a crucial role in human health.

Microalgae with their improved growth rates and accumulation of high-value-added products make their commercial production attractive. Among them, lutein, which is a carotenoid, plays a very important role due to its various applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry. Induction of its biosynthesis can be triggered by various stress conditions like light. In this study, three different light intensities (50,150 and 300 µmol photons/m2 s) and aeration rates (1, 3, and 5 L/min) were utilized to induce the lutein biosynthesis and biomass productivity in Scenedesmus obliquus.

In conclusion, symbiotic algae tend to be species-specific, whereas bacteria fluctuate significantly over sampling time. Studying the molecular issues of microalgae, the presence, the role of some groups of bacteria involved in the N, C, P, and S cycles, and the influence of environmental parameters should also be encouraged to understand the relationship of coral holobiont better.

In this study, the morpho-biological characteristics of the Daphnia magna Straus culture and microalgae of the genera Ankistrodesmus, Botryococcus, Scenedesmus, Chlorococcum and Chlorella were studied. Protein and fat storage of micronutrients was determined. It has also been found that when Daphnia magna cultures are propagated on the basis of micronutrients, their growth rate and biomass production.
