This study investigated the effects of different PGRs on in vitro plant regeneration of Anthurium scherzerianum Schott and acclimatization in the ex vitro stage. Depending on the objective of each experiment, the in vitro shoots were induced from callus cultured on a modified Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing cytokinins and auxins.

Activated charcoal (AC) is highly adsorbent and is often used to promote seedling growth in plant tissue culture; however, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear. In this study, root and leaf tissues of 10-day-old seedlings grown via immature embryo culture in the presence or absence of AC in the culture medium were subjected to global transcriptome analysis by RNA sequencing to provide insights into the effects of AC on seedling growth.

The cotyledons are suitable materials to create multiple shoot for GmCHI transgenic T. paniculatum when using the MS medium supplemented with kinetin. The addition of 2.0 mg/l of BAP gave a higher multi-shooting effect than the addition of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin or the combination of 1.5 mg/l of kinetin with 0.8 mg/l of IBA. Using 0.5mg/l IAA had better rooting ability than combining 0.5mg/l IAA with kinetin.

The influence of different parameters on IAA production of these strains was evaluated by the “one factor at a time” method and the obtained results showed that the best conditions for IAA production of DTAN1-M5 were a medium with the following compositions: 1 % peptone, 0.5 % sucrose, 0.6 % yeast extract, 0.5 % NaCl, pH 7.1, supplemented with 0.2 mg/mL L-tryptophan, which was incubated in a shaker at 150 rpm and 30 oC for 84 hours. The maximum amount of IAA was 84.13 µg/mL.

Taproot is the main edible organ and ultimately determines radish yield and quality. However, the precise molecular mechanism underlying taproot thickening awaits further investigation in radish. Here, RNA-seq was performed to identify critical genes involved in radish taproot thickening from three advanced inbred lines with different root size.

Recent studies on N2 fixing burkholderia isolates as a biofertilizer for the sustainable agriculture
In this study thirteen isolates of Burkholderia sp. were isolated from the root, stem and leaf samples of four different crops viz., rice, maize, sugarcane and blackgram, using N-free Burkholderia Azelaic acid (BAz) semi solid medium. Based on growth performance on different media the following isolates viz., RB1 (Rice Burkholderia 1), MB2 (Maize Burkholderia 2), SB3 (Sugarcane Burkholderia 3) and BB4 (Black gram Burkholderia 4) were selected for further studies.

In this study, we investigated four factors to improve the hairy root induction in Urena lobata L. These factors include: age of plant (15-day-old in vitro plants, 45-day-old in vitro plants and after two subculture generations plants), different parts of plant (roots, stems, and leaves), infection time (10, 20 and 30 minutes), and culture medium (Murashige and Skoog (MS), Gamborg B5 medium (GB5) and Woody plant medium (WPM)).

The present experiment was conducted to standardize the protocol for in vitro mutagenesis of gladiolus hybridus varieties ‘Punjab Glance’ and ‘Sylvia’. The nodal buds were irradiated with different doses of gamma rays (Co60) 0, 5, 8, 10 and 12 Gy. Irradiated explants were then cultured aseptically on MS basal medium supplemented with 5 mg/l (BAP) + 2mg/l (IBA) and agar-agar to induce shoot and root proliferation.

A study was carried out to establish efficient and reliable in vitro propagation protocol for Gisela 5 (Prunus cerasus x Prunus canescens) - clonal cherry rootstock. Axillary and terminal buds of ‘Gisela 5’ were collected in the spring and cultured on MS medium. After the in vitro cultures were sufficiently established, experiments were conducted to assess the influence of different levels of benzyladenine (BA), kinetin (Kin), thidiazuron (TDZ), gibrellic acid (GA3) and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) on in vitro shoot multiplication.

IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) and GA3 (Gibbrelic Acid) are taken for the study of rooting and Sand, Cocopeat, Vermicompost and Vermiculite selected alone or in combinations for the study of hardening in gerbera. Different parameters on root induction were taken similarly morphological and biochemical parameters were studies in hardend plants of gerbera.

The by-products obtained from the coconut industry goes out as waste and pollute the environment, if not properly managed. In order to convert these by-products such as coir pith and coco peat into a natural organic resource, it is processed and utilized as an economical input in agriculture as well as in horticulture. Processed coir pith is used as an excellent soil amendment because of its favourable physical properties in maintaining soil health.

Pomegranate can be propagated by seed, air layering, grafting, shoot cuttings and tissue culture. Seed propagation is used to raise the rootstocks that can be utilized for germplasm conservation and rootstocks breeding purpose. Vegetative propagation methods are used to multiply selected genotypes that bring similar character in form of clones having similar characters to mother plant. Vegetative propagation techniques (hard wood cutting, layering) are practices to raise the saplings for commercial production in pomegranate, because it perpetuates all characteristics of each cultivar.
