Severe combined immunodeficiency includes inherited diseases with impairment of T cells development, often associated with profound defects of B and/or NK cells differentiation. Rotavirus infection is responsible for severe acute gastroenteritis and over 400,000 deaths a year in children aged < 5 years, especially in low and middle-income countries.

The introduction of rotavirus A vaccination across the developing world has not proved to be as efficacious as first hoped. One cause of vaccine failure may be infection by zoonotic rotaviruses that are very variable antigenically from the vaccine strain. However, there is a lack of genomic information about the circulating rotavirus A strains in farm animals in the developing world that may be a source of infection for humans.

Group A rotaviruses (RVA) are zoonotic pathogens responsible for acute enteritis in human and neonatal ruminants. This research aimed to determine the prevalence of RVA in ruminants (cattle, sheep, and goats) and investigate the circulating RVA genotypes in these animals in Kuwait.

Diarrhea is one of the most common diseases and causes of death in calves during the first month of life. Pre-calving vaccination programme (PVP) against the most common diarrhea-causing pathogens could help to avoid this threat if hyperimmune transition milk (TM) is fed to calves throughout the whole susceptibility period.

To investigate the expression of beta 7 integrin on B and T lymphocytes using a flow cytometry system. Subjects and methods: We analyzed immunological parameters such as B and T lymphocyte population as well as B and T cell subpopulations expressing beta 7 integrin molecules by flow cytometry on the two groups of children with and without response to the Rotavirus vaccine.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of rotavirus vaccine in reducing the attacks of acute gastroenteritis among children between (2-15) months of age. A cross-sectional study was carried out at the Central Teaching Hospital of Pediatrics in Baghdad, Iraq, from 1st of July to 31st of December 2013.

This present study has aimed to provide a molecular characterization of rotavirus species A (RVA) and to determine the frequency of RVC and RVH in fecal specimens from nonvaccinated piglets, across 5 farms in the metropolitan mesoregion of Belém, within the Amazon region, Brazil. In the previous study, porcine RVA was found in 9.9% (17/172) during the years 2008-2009. Using RT-PCR, Sanger nucleotide sequencing, and phylogenetic analyses, the entire genomes of 17 Brazilian porcine RVA strains were analyzed.

Rotavirus (RV) is the commonest cause of acute gastroenteritis in infants and young children worldwide. A Quality of Life study was conducted in primary care in three European countries as part of a larger epidemiological study (SPRIK) to investigate the impact of paediatric rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) on affected children and their parents.

In 2010, researchers using novel laboratory techniques found that US-licensed rotavirus vaccines contain DNA or DNA fragments from Porcine circovirus (PCV), a virus common among pigs but not believed to cause illness in humans. We sought to understand pediatricians’ and mothers’ perspectives on this finding.

Rotavirus is responsible for over 25 million outpatient visits, over 2 million hospitalizations and 527,000 deaths annually, worldwide. It is estimated that breastfeeding in accordance with the World Health Organization recommendations would save 1.45 million children’s lives each year in the developing countries.

Diarrhoea, although easily curable, is a global cause of death for a half million children every year. Rotavirus and Campylobacter are the most common etiological agents of diarrhoea in children less than 5 years of age. However, in Nepal, these causative agents are not routinely examined for the diagnosis and treatment.

Animal Rotaviruses (RVs) are considered as major pathogen threats to humans and livestock due to neonatal mortality and possibility of interspecies transmission and exchange of genomic materials from human to animal species and vice versa. There are eight groups of rotaviruses (A to H), among them mostly Group A mostly causes diarrhea in neonates and infants in humans and animals especially in cattle and buffalo worldwide. The present study was carried out to emphasize for molecular detection of circulating rotaviruses in Bhandara and Chandrapur districts of Maharashtra state in India.
