Storage and processing technologies have been utilized for centuries to prevent post harvest losses of vegetables and to transform them into safe, delicious and stable products. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of refrigeration storage (4°C) on the nutritional value of five leafy vegetables (Hibiscus sabdariffa, Amaranthus hybridus, Andasonia digitata, Vigna unguiculata and Ceiba patendra) that are consumed in Northern Côte d'Ivoire.

In addition, the results also show that purchase intention to use is positively influenced by attitude towards use and the effect of perceived usefulness on intention to use is not clear. Several implications are provided to support safe vegetable online businesses to develop the market from the research findings.

This study was carried out to assess the knowledge and perception of vegetable growers regarding the appropriate knowledge on safe handling and proper use of pesticides. The results revealed that farmers’ choices of pesticides was strongly influenced by both authorized pesticide dealers and neighboring farmers.

Kết quả chỉ ra mức độ hiểu biết và tỷ lệ tiêu dùng về RAT còn hạn chế. Hiện nay giá RAT ở mức cao, chất lượng chưa đáng tin cậy và hệ thống cửa hàng bán RAT còn ít là những yếu tố chính cản trở quyết định mua của người tiêu dùng.

Preservation of fruits, vegetables, and food are essential for keeping them for a long time without further deterioration in the quality of the product. Solar drying has been used since time immemorial to dry plants, seeds, fruits, meat, fish, wood, and other agricultural, forest products. The aim of the dryer is mainly for the welfare of the marginalized and poor farmers those who can’t afford hi-tech facilities and equipment’s to preserve their agricultural products. Drying of Safed Musli (Chlorophypum boribilianum) in open sun drying require more time and affected its quality.

To enhance productivity and food safety Indian Agriculture become more mechanized and science based by using inputs and the plant growth regulators are among of them; plant growth regulators has quicker impact on vegetative as well as yield of the crops. There has been a great advancement in food processing methods over the years from traditional thermal processing to various non-thermal processings like high-pressure, electric field and radiations based methods. These methods have been found more effective and less damaging to food quality. This review describes the mechanism of inactivation of microbes due to these newer methods of food processing. These methods kill vegetative microbes but fail to effectively kill spores, but a combination of methods can be used to achieve the objective.

Changes in melanosis, microbiology, and fat oxidation in Pacific white shrimps (Litopenaeus vannamei) when treated with Houttuynia cordata extract (designated E-DC) were monitored during cold storage for seven days at 20 C. Whole shrimps treated with E-DC solution (0.025%, w/v) revealed slow growth of total aerobic microorganisms, Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, throughout cold storage in comparison to the control sample treated by water (p0.05).

In this paper, we use a Kernel regression method to discover the main determinants of consumers’ decisions for the consumption of “safe” vegetables with more focus on perceived levels of trust.
