Sagittal vertical axis

Recent research has proposed a classifcation of spinopelvic stiffness according to pelvic spatial orientation for risk stratifcation in patients who undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA). However, the influence of global alignment was not investigated, and this study evaluated the effect of global balance (sagittal vertical axis [SVA]) on spinopelvic motion.

Most of the previous studies about the surgical treatment of dropped head syndrome (DHS) are small case series, and their primary outcome measures were cervical alignment parameters. Therefore, little is known about the associations between pre- and postoperative global sagittal alignment in the whole spine and the clinical outcomes of the surgical treatment of DHS.

The differences in whole-body sagittal alignment between different postures in young, healthy adults
To identify the radiographic differences between the standard upright position and the natural and comfortable upright position. Methods: The radiographic data of 50 young and healthy adults were evaluated, and parameters including the global cervical angle (GCA), global thoracic angle (GTA), global lumbar angle (GLA) were used to depict the spine profile.
