Human- animal relationships are subjected to two primary dimensions: those of affection and utility, which combine together to give a proper shape in animal welfare often expressed in commercial terms when farmers are involved in running a business on livestock. The present study was carried out in purposively selected commercial small holders‟ dairy farms in and around Guwahati under Kamrup (Metro) District of Assam. A total of 60 dairy farmers were selected based on apparently similar shed and animals following minimum scientific management.

A study in Hisar district of Haryana was conducted during 2014-15 to assess the impact of scientific dairy farming training on knowledge level of dairy farmers about management practices on randomly selected 60 participant and 60 non-participant respondents. Data were collected through personal interview with the help of pretested structured interview schedule from two villages during 2014-15. The study reveals that majority (53.33%) of participant and non-participant dairy farmers had medium level of knowledge about management practices of scientific dairy husbandry practices.

To sustain dairy farming as a rural livelihood and to meet the growing demand of milk, necessitates dissemination of technologies/innovations for improving the farm’s output. There is also a need to understand how far existing innovations are diffused to the farmers and factors influencing diffusion and/or rejection. Based on the highest cattle population and best rank in adoption of recommended dairy innovations three districts namely Visakhapatnam, Krishna and Chittoor were selected from each region of Andhra Pradesh respectively.

A study was conducted at the Banaras Hindu University Dairy Farm to estimate the effects of feeding management practices on rearing of animals and milk production in terms of economic analysis. The data pertaining to the feeds and feeding systems being followed and their input costs were collected from the records maintained for all the animals at the dairy farm. The lactation yield of cows and buffaloes has been worked out to 996 and 1150 Litres, respectively. The cost of daily feeding per head and per Litre of milk has been estimated to Rs. 60.26 and Rs. 10.80, respectively.

There is need of improved and innovative technology to raise production and productivity for enhancing efficiency of agriculture in NER. The Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) is a strategy for Socio-economic development and livelihood security of tribal people of Meghalaya. The study was conducted to assess the socio-economic status of the respondents and to analyze the tangible and intangible benefits of the interventions in Rongram block of West Garo Hills distrct of Meghalaya. A total sample of 120 respondents was drawn from the different technological components.

The present study was conducted by keeping a concept in mind that dairy development is not feasible unless dairy farm women are trained in scientific dairy farming. The present study was conducted in KVK operational area of Rajkot district with 80 dairying farm women purposively selected who were intensively carried out agriculture and dairying activities. The study inferred that overall distribution of dairy farmwomen according to training need, 56.25 per cent had medium training need followed by high training need.

The recent study was performed on the respondents of different age group, gender, education status, factors and other characteristics that include breeds, rearing and housing strategies of the various buffalo in these different villages of Chaka region.
