An experiment on evaluation of fungicides, sea weed biomolecules and screening of fifty commercially available varieties/hybrids against early blight of tomato was conducted to study at ARS, Gunjevu during 2018-19.

The present study focused on the effect of various seaweeds extracts and biocontrol agents on controlling sheath blight in rice caused by R.solani under in vitro condition. Use of biocontrol agents and sea weed extracts is an eco friendly, cost effective and sustainable alternative method in disease management.

A field experiment on green gram was conducted during kharif 2018 and 2019 at UAS Dharwad, Karnataka on clayey soil. The experiment consisted of seven treatments including seed treatment and foliar spray of sea weed extract-Sagarika (liquid) along with recommended seed treatment. The Sagarika was sprayed once or twice along with recommended seed treatment and NPK consortia. It was sprayed at pre flowering and pod formation stages.

A field experiment was conducted at the instructional farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jajpur, Odisha during 2015 to study the “Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth, yield and quality of okra”, variety-Pusa A4. From the experiment it was observed that application of RDF (75%) + (25%) N through neem oil cake (T7 ) produced maximum plant height (131.40 cm), internode length (8.02cm), fruit length (11.96cm), maximum number of fruits per plant (14.42), individual fruit weight (14.89g), yield per plot (13.29kg), Yield per ha. (9.49 ton) where RDF was 110:50:80 NPK kg/ha.

The field experiments were conducted to evaluate combination of inorganic fertilizers along with organic manures at the Experimental Farm, Department of Agronomy, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. The treatments were tested in Split- plot Design and replicated thrice. It was observed that the growth and yield attributes of rice crop viz., plant height, no. of tillers hill-1 , LAI and dry matter production were favourably influenced by combined application of inorganic fertilizers and organic manures.
