Seagrasses in Truong Sa archipelago have not been intensively studied and understood, even in some obviously progressive works recently published. It is essential to carry out much more researches to fill up understanding gaps of seagrasses in the area. In 2019, within the framework of the project coded KC09.29/16–20, two surveys were conducted for three selected islands (Truong Sa Lon, Thuyen Chai and Song Tu Tay) in the area, focusing on marine ecosystems including seagrass beds.

Assessments of fish fauna in the World Biosphere Reserve of Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An were based on analyses of data of visual censuses and samples collected at 5 sites of nipa palm, 9 sites of seagrass beds and 15 sites of coral reefs in June 2016, 200 samples from 25 fishing gears in wet and dry seasons (November 2015 and June 2016), and species composition gathered from previous (1994, 2004 and 2008) and recent studies (2017).

The present investigation was carried out to assess the distribution of zooplankton in seagrass ecosystem in comparison with that of the coastal waters without seagrasses in Gulf of Mannar. Water and plankton samples were collected from the seagrass ecosystem (Station 1) and the control station without seagrasses (station 2) from September 2016 to May 2017. Up to now, twenty two nematodes species were recognized in the genus Daptonema Cobb, 1920 from mangrove, river and estuary ecosystems in Vietnam, of those, eighteen species were from Vietnam’s nematode fauna. Three species, D. dihystera Gagarin and Nguyen Vu Thanh, 2005, D. salvum Gagarin, Nguyеn Vu Thanh & Nguyen Thi Thu, 2005 and D. rigidum Gagarin, Nguyеn Vu Thanh & Nguyen Thi Thu, 2005 were found in fresh water, while other species were distributed in the mangrove forest, estuaries and seagrass ecosystem.
