The newly developed cellulolytic microbial consortium was evaluated for its composting efficiency on rural and urban waste in open pit method. During composting highest temperature was recorded in second week in both the rural and urban waste compost pits. The temperature declined gradually thereafter in all the treatments upto 11th week and remained almost stable thereafter.

Observations were conducted to reveal the vegetative and floral characters in Gliricidia sepium in the School of Forestry and Environment, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Science, Allahabad situated at 250 28′N latitude and 810 55′E longitude. Analysis of variance for the characters under observation revealed significant differences for leaf bud swell, leaf bud burst, leafing, senescence, flower bud development stages, anthesis timing, and anther dehiscence. The emergence of new leaves and their development continued up to second week of June.

Transplantation of hepatitis C virus (HCV)-positive organs has undergone a paradigm shift because of the advent of direct-acting antivirals. We present the case of a 57-year-old man successfully treated initially with pegylated interferon and ribavirin after HCV recurrence postliver transplantation. He subsequently developed end-stage renal disease and received a genotype 1a HCV-positive kidney transplant. A 12-week course of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir and low-dose ribavirin was initiated and sustained virologic response was achieved.

Studies on population dynamics of thrips on tomato crop were carried out during two consecutive kharif seasons (2016 and 2017). The observations viz., number of adult thrips and associated GBNV disease and natural enemies were recorded at weekly intervals. The results revealed that, thrips activity found throughout the cropping period. Micropropagation of Indian Blackberry (Syzygium cumini L.) species locally called as Jamun, has always been a challenging task. In India, Jamun tree is an underutilized minor fruit crop species possessing a high medicinal and nutritional value. An efficient protocol for rapid shoot proliferation of Jamun (cv. Rajamun) from nodal segment of locally grown mature trees has been developed. Experiments were conducted at Biotech Centre, Dr. PDKV, Akola during 2016-18. It is suggested that adipocytokines secreted by adipose tissue play a role in the development of obesity-related complications and diabetes. Regular aerobic exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of metabolic complications in obese type 2 diabetic subjects. The aim of this study was to compare the impact of aerobic versus resistance training on insulin resistance, adipocytokines and inflammatory cytokine in obese type 2 diabetic patients.

During both the second and third residency years, the pediatric residents had a four-week rotation of developmental and behavioral pediatrics/pediatric neurology. The schedule for this rotation was set by the developmental pediatricians who were also the project coordinators of PPHE. The partner family was contacted, and the family and community agency visits were added to the schedule of the rotation. During the third year, the physicians visited the same partner family they met the year before. This allowed them to observe the changes after a year of development and services.
